Breathe in Life, Breathe out Hope

We are the warriors who fight with weapons of truth, love, light, empathy, compassion, joy, hope, abundance, music, dance, friendship, trust, service… all the positive energies which empower people who might otherwise spiral into madness and despair. The fight is not external, but a struggle or contest within.

If you can do only one thing this day, breathe in life, deeply and fully. Let yourself feel these weapons you have to war against the darkness. Breathe out hope. That just might be enough for now. It’s a start. This war is not a traditional or conventional war. The battlefield is your own awareness, the very thing that makes you consciously alive. Remove the blockages to flow. Remove the avoidance and the trauma while processing and integrating things like anger and insecurity.

The physical world is a manifestation of processes which, when looked at closely enough, seem mystical and fantastic. Our religions and esoteric teachers have frameworks for describing how all this works, but much of it is old or contextualized for its age and sprinkled with various distortions. The “new age” approach has its own limitations and falsehoods. Thankfully we don’t need some elaborate system. We already know. It can be as simple as an intentional, positive breath.

“I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people”

“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

I share these scriptures not as a Sunday School lesson or a call for you to define “God” as fitting into some box, but as a reminder of some good things to think on. I’ve spent a number of years removing concepts like “faith” from my list of beneficial things and that is no longer the case. I see a bit deeper to know we won’t always know, but we will feel and if our feelings are aligned with the I AM Truth, we will be blessed.

I hope this message finds you blessed this Monday morning. Know that you are not alone, and that others breathe in life with you today and breathe out hope that is contagious and spreading like a wildfire not of destruction but of refinement and creative, beautiful love.

Stand strong today. We got this.
