I got up early to clean, feed the chickens, make some dill pickle slices...
And most importantly take advantage of the wonderful sunshine!
My dog Pico got a new tshirt and I know he was dying to go for a walk and show it off!
He was super happy!
The air got nippy so as soon as we got home I needed to drink something hot, what better thing to drink than some respiratory health boosting tea!
The day I harvested nettles not only did I make a nourishing tea concentrate but I also dehydrated a few leaves to store.
With these I make a nettle tea that’s very good for inflammation and lung health as well! I personally do not like the flavor of nettles on their own so I mix them up a little!
To 2 tablespoons of dried nettle leaves I add a tablespoon of dragon pearl jasmine tea, a squeeze of half a lemon and pour over 8 oz of boiling water.
I let it steep for 5 minutes and then I serve with a teaspoon of raw organic honey!
Super good and deliciously warming!
Tea on hand, I sat down to read for a bit.
Today feels awfully calm and I hope the feeling continues throughout the week because who knows what specially tomorrow might bring with all the commotion going on. I just hope we are always safe and prepared!
May your home be filled with warmth, your pantry full and may you always have good health!
