Twitter is in Danger in India

Indian Government recently introduced their new IT rules 2021 around Q1 2021 and they send notices to a bunch of Social Media websites like Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter, and many more to comply according to their rules and regulations from here on out. The deadline given by the Government of India was for June 2021 and even though companies like Google, Facebook, Whatsapp, and others have fully or partially complied with the New IT Rules there was no response from Twitter. A lot of people were thinking that Twitter might be banned in India because of the above stance but it seems instead of downright banning Twitter the Indian Government took quite a different approach.

Social Media Websites enjoy a certain privilege or should I call it right which allows them not to be held responsible for anything anyone posts or writes on their Websites. The term, coined for this is called Liability Protection, and it seems that Twitter will not enjoy these facilities which basically means Twitter is currently in qi=uite the pickle as at any point of time they may get a ton of lawsuits that has nothing to do with them at all but since they don't have Liability Protection in India they could get in trouble.

If you ask me there are only two ways Twitter can go about this. They can either comply with all the New IT Laws or they could just be banned from India. The reason I think it is going to be either of the two is that I don't feel there is any middle ground left for Twitter to take. Of course, I could be totally wrong about this and Twitter could pull a Rabbit out of their Hat and still make some heads in India but we will have to wait and see if that happens.
