Powerup for Hive PUD December 1, 2020

It's that time of the month. No, not that time of the month, it's Hive Power Up Day, otherwise known as Hive PUD! Appropriate to have a PUD at that time of the month lol! Or not! Onward and upward!

So in keeping in style with that young lady @traciyork's work filling in for @streetstyle in the PUD tradition, we will power up on the first of the month, this would be for December 1, 2020, last powerup of the year 2020, which is invariably going to go down in history along with 2015 for reasons we will not go into. Suffice it to say we hope 2021 goes much smoother than this year did.

So a miniature timeline:

A couple of posts to check out if anyone is interested, the first is @streetstyle's original post HERE .

Then, he renamed it and started the PUD to carry forward here in the Hive blockchain, and you can see that post HERE .

So the next event in our miniature little timeline is this sharp young lady named @traciyork realized that something was amiss when @streetstyle had not made his usual announcement post within a reasonable timeframe, and she could not get a hold of him to check up on him, and so scooped up everything to keep the ball rolling and whipped up a post which you can see HERE , to keep things moving forward.

I am not posting this for a win because it is the minimum, only powering up a small amount required for the mention. I am posting this to show that it doesn't matter how small of an amount that you power-up, it's a matter that it can be powered-up and you are willing to do that, as it shows you believe in the Hive blockchain and are supporting it and may possibly incentivize someone else to power up as well.

Here are some benefits that can be gained by powering up:

  • 2.25% APR dividend on all Hive power that is held,
  • have greater voting power to upvote with,
  • have bigger curation rewards when upvoting others,
  • be able to do more in commenting and upvoting because of having more "Resource Credits".
  • I almost forgot: you get a badge from @hivebuzz!

In working with the introduceyourself posts almost every day, I have seen people who have been here only a short time and they are doing an introduceyourself post and powering down. The only reason why I could think of that they may be doing this is that people have told them that they can post and get paid for it and that they think this is quick money, but it doesn't take long and they find out that this sort of thing is for the long haul, and requires a lot of patience and perseverance.

It can be used to supplement someone's income, but it takes the time and patience to set it up that way first. Hive takes time to build your account up to power down to the point where you need it to be but you must have a substantial amount built up first, and if you are producing quality posts all the time you can set it up to draw off of the amount that you set for yourself. I do know Hivians who do this, but they have spent the time and effort to build their accounts up to be able to do that. Basically, it can be done with determination.

In @streetstyle's words and now in the blog by the young lady who picked up the PUD baton @traciyork:

For the first day of the month:

  • We ask that everyone who can do so, power up any amount of HIVE they are holding on the first of the month.
  • We ask accounts that are currently powering down to please pause the powerdown during the hours of the first of the month.
  • We ask that those who are trading and/or selling Hive, not to do so during the hours of the first of the month (and if possible, cancel any type of sell order on any exchanges for the same hours).

  • You can see @traciyork's post about the prizes HERE from last weeks announcement post, and her current post with extra events HERE is a summary post. (What can I tell you, the lady is a prolific writer!!!)

This is one initiative that the staff of @theterminal has been a part of for a long time, and needs to be here to help the platform and all its users.
