Have you ever grown a plant from its seed? | Try it, it feels amazing!

Namaste to all #Indiaunited community members 🙏

Today, I have come to share some glimpses of my #terracegarden. I hope you enjoy and learn something too.

I am in LOVE with NATURE and.png
The above Picture is taken by Me with my OnePlus phone and Edited on Canva

I have loved gardening for many years now. And I do this not professionally but for inner #peace and #happiness. Yes, it is scientifically proven that gardening relieves stress, and boosts creativity, productivity, and focus.

When my love for gardening began, the first plant I grew was a tomato. Although I do not have pictures of that plant but believe me, it is very relaxing to see plants growing from seeds to trees.

Now, let's begin with the tradition of "Ladies First" and welcome 'lady's finger' with applause😁

Let me tell you again, the above Pictures were taken by Me with my phone.

What you see in the image above is not the #ladyfinger but the beginning of its flower formation. The plant has just started showing blooms. You can see its subsequent steps in the image shown below.

In this image, the bud has almost shed its upper skin.

Here you can see a fully grown #flower of ladyfinger.
Since fully grown ladyfinger is yet to be formed on my plants in the subsequent steps, hence I will write and tell you about it here.

So after the flower you see in the picture above dries, the lower part of the flower will gradually start taking the shape of a ladyfinger and will take about 10 more days to #harvest.

The entire process from sowing seeds to harvesting ladyfinger takes about 60 days. Meaning, that if you sow ladyfinger seeds today, then after 2 months you will be able to enjoy your own #fresh #organic ladyfingers at home. 😋

These are some suggestions based on my own experiences:

  • The container should be 15 inches tall and wide at least.
  • Soak the seeds for 12 hours before sowing.
  • After sowing keep the pot in shade until the seeds germinate.
  • Add at least 30% coco peat to the soil mixture.
  • Place the pot in a spot that receives direct sunlight for at least 5 hours.
  • Be patient, good things take time.

Now let's move to another plant.
It all starts with a lemon, a big lemon that attracted me. And the thought came to my mind that the plant grown from the seeds of a big lemon would also bear big lemons. lol!

With this innocence of mine, I took out 2 big #seeds from that big lemon, folded them in a kitchen towel, sprinkled some water, and kept them aside for a week. Although I had tried this several times before, but this time both my seeds germinated, #fortunately, and then I planted them in a small pot.

After about a week, I saw one seed peeking out of the #soil.

And then, following his elder, the second seed also emerged above the soil.

You can also see the seed visible half an inch above the soil.

Today it is 2 years old and now when I look at it I remember the time when it was a small seed, then tiny #roots and #leaves came out of it, just like a child grows in the mother's womb. It is Magical!

This is another lemon plant that was gifted to me by my father-in-law about a year and a half ago. As you can see, there are many lemons on this plant.

The entire process from sowing seeds to harvesting #lemons takes about 3-5 years. Yes, it takes time, but the taste of the fruits of plants planted with your own hands will make you feel a different level of happiness. 😋

The next fruit in my garden is an #egg that grows on a plant, hence you can also call it #eggplant. 😜

I do not have photos of this plant at the time of sowing and #planting its seeds. But you can see the process of formation of #fruits from its #flowers.

Look at these fruits, aren't they cute?
When we get this result in the form of fruits after waiting for months and in some plants for years, then a different wave of happiness runs through us.

Eggplant seeds take above 15 days to germinate and you can harvest the fruit after 3-4 months. To be honest, I don't know how long eggplant keeps bearing fruits, nor I do think and care about it.

The last plant of today's #blog and a new #guest in my garden which I myself saw only 2 days ago is Crown I mean #CORN.😍
I apologize again because I don't have photos of this plant at the time of sowing and planting its seeds but I promise that next time I will take all the photos of every stage of my plants.

Look at them, about 3 months ago they were tiny seeds and today standing on their own feet. How can someone not fall in #love with them?

Some suggestions based on my experiences are:

  • most of the vegetables that grow on plants not trees can be grown in 15 inches planters.

  • Keep your plants in some shade until it is at least 6 inches tall.

  • Soaking the seeds before sowing increases the chances of germination.

  • Cocopeat increases the porosity of the soil. As a result, the soil will become more airy and loose, helping the roots to grow more effectively.

  • The sun is really an important part, no matter how rich and healthy your soil is If plants do not get sunlight for at least 4-5 hours, they will not grow properly.

  • Talk to your plants, tell them how your day was, ask them about their day, did they sleep well, tell them what else you are planning to do for them, and tell them what you want from your life. Plants have a direct connection to nature and god.

  • Last but not least growth takes time. This is not just for plants but also for life. Keep working towards your goals and never lose hope. You are worthy and capable of achieving great things.🙏

Finally let me tell you once again, that all the pictures shown above were taken by Me with my phone. Earlier I had a Samsung phone, now I have a OnePlus.
And one more thing is that my English is not very good so sometimes I use 'Google Translate'. Please don't think that anything I have written in this blog has been copied from somewhere or is AI-generated.

As I said in the beginning, I hope you enjoyed and learned something too.

See you in the next blog. Till then keep learning, growing, and smiling!
