A Cat or a Monkey

A Haver once asked if our cats were cats or monkeys.

I would say that they are great actors, except that they are great mischiefs. And the greatest actor among them, the Ronald Reagan of the cats is this kitten named Assen.

He is a special Alpha male who usually harasses his siblings and does not let them eat quietly until he has eaten. On the other hand, he likes to just lie down somewhere and not be bothered by anything.

But when I show up in the yard, he has an important job to do - to watch me.

He came to me so many times when I started doing something, he lay somewhere down, and pretended to be asleep. Of course, with one eye half closed or half open.

Or he pretends to do something, for example, starts washing, but the more times I move, the more times he moves and he always finds himself at the same distance from me, watching me out of the corner of his eye, but otherwise washing himself 😹

I really have fun watching his behavior (while he watches me do what I do).

Because he's such a great actor, probably just following his nature, nothing more.

Do Alpha males just need to have a look at everything, and control everything?

IMG_20210720_142053.jpg

Because in this filmed case, the actor came to me when I went to see what the situation was with our Albizia julibrissin tree or Persian silk tree, invaded at that time by ladybugs.

And he jumped on that withered willow right next to me, first pretending to rub on its dry branches.

IMG_20210720_142315.jpg

Then he pretended to clean himself.

IMG_20210720_142246.jpg

Oh yes, I understand, the top of a withered willow tree is the most appropriate and convenient place to clean himself 😸

IMG_20210720_142408.jpg

Just as the top of the thorny bush is the most comfortable place to sleep - I already showed you this situation some time ago.

IMG_20210720_142340.jpg

I will really die laughing because of him.

But I do recognize his excellent acting qualities 😻

IMG_20210720_142441.jpg

So, he's posing here.

And here 'the acting' is in action.
