One of the most interesting topics of philosophy, and even more of life itself, is the topic of truth since a great part of our projects and even decisions along our existential path depend on it.
There have been several philosophers who have given us their reflections on it: for some, it does not exist, it is a mirage and is totally relative, for others the opposite, it is the foundation of everything that exists, and others say that if it exists, it is unattainable for us, we cannot know it.
Without going into these points of view, through this post I want to talk about an aspect of truth that we can find in any kind of conception, and that is the fact that what we call truth is for us conditioned, whether we want it or not, by other things and, therefore, it is always subject to an interpretation, a word that we can replace by this other, more philosophical and exact word: hermeneutics.
Uno de los temas más interesantes de la filosofía, más aún de la vida misma, es el tema de la verdad, pues, de ella depende gran parte de nuestros proyectos e incluso decisiones a lo largo de nuestro camino existencial.
Han habido varios filósofos que nos han brindado sus reflexiones sobre la misma: para unos, ésta no existe, es un espejismo y es totalmente relativa, para otros todo lo contrario, es el fundamento de todo lo que existe, y otros hablan de que si existe, es inalcanzable para nosotros, no la podemos conocer.
Sin entrar en estos puntos de vistas, mediante este post quiero hablar sobre un aspecto de la verdad que podemos encontrar en cualquier tipo de concepción, y es el hecho de que aquello que llamamos verdad está para nosotros condicionada, queremos o no, por otras cosas y, por ello, está siempre sujeta a una interpretación, palabra que podemos reemplazar por esta otra, más filosófica y exacta: hermenéutica.

In a special way, I remember in my philosophy classes a thinker who touched this topic in a particular way, Martin Heidegger, an existentialist philosopher whose center of reflection was the very existence of the human being, from which the various interpretations of reality arise, in fact, he himself came to call him the custodian of being.
This can be related to what was mentioned at the beginning of this post, because, when the human being encounters any kind of reality, he becomes its custodian and gives it a meaning, this is where hermeneutics comes in, which is nothing more than the interpretation we give to everything that surrounds us. An interpretation that is in turn influenced by various aspects: environment, relationships we create, emotions, feelings, intentions, etc. For this reason, hermeneutics is more than the interpretation of facts, it is also everything that conditions such interpretation, because whenever we face a truth we do it under specific "lenses", under different criteria and perceptions.
This explains many things in society, which, if respected, would foster greater development of the same, where tolerance, diversity, democracy, the plurality of thoughts, among other related values would be more authentically promoted. Thus, although there are some objective truths, our approach is subjective and partial, hence the best image for the truth that I have heard is the one that says that truth is shaped like a diamond.
De manera especial, recuerdo entre mis clases de filosofía a un pensador que tocaba este tópico de manera particular, Martin Heidegger, filósofo existencialista cuyo centro de reflexión era la existencia misma del ser humano, desde la cual surgen las diversas interpretaciones de la realidad, de hecho, él mismo le llego a llamar el custodio del ser.
Esto lo podemos relacionar con lo mencionado al principio de este post, pues, el ser humano al encontrarse con cualquier tipo de realidad, se convierte en su custodio y le da un sentido, he aquí donde entra la hermenéutica, que no es más que la interpretación que le damos a todo lo que nos rodea. Una interpretación que a su vez está influenciada por diversos aspectos: ambiente, relaciones que creamos, emociones, sentimientos, intenciones, etc. Por esta razón, la hermenéutica es más que la interpretación de unos hechos, es también todo lo que condiciona dicha interpretación, porque siempre que nos enfrentamos a una verdad lo hacemos bajo unos "lentes" específicos, bajo unos criterios y percepciones diversas.
Esto explica muchas cosas en la sociedad, que si se respetaran se auspiciara una mayor desarrollo de las mismas, donde la tolerancia, la diversidad, la democracia, la pluralidad de pensamientos, entre otros valores afines serían más auténticamente promovidos. Así pues , aunque existan algunas verdades objetivas, nuestro acercamiento es subjetivo y parcial, de allí que la mejor imagen para la verdad que he escuchado es aquella que dice que la verdad tiene forma de diamante.
