St. Lovrenc - 722m : A Natural Monument (Macro photography)

Beautiful weather brings lots of unexpected hiking adventures, one of them was my goal to explore a new hill, achieve new views and find new paths to ^level up^ .

I picked St. Lovrenc (722m) as I found a way with marcations while I was returning back to my blue pearl from a lovely hill Lisca about a week ago. Checked out the path but heavy clouds and several rain drops got me to turn around and head home, like I was made out of sugar.

Yesterday I decided to achieve two tops starting with Lisca(948m), but this time on the return I passed my car and started following marked path to St Lovrenc. At first I didn't expect anything other than a nice walk in nature, beautiful warm weather and hoping for a nice view on the top.

Started with a narrow path, to going up a small road, threw a freshly cut grass field with all the nice aromas, to getting up the hill. Everything was nicely markated, didn't even have to look for directions online nor got a felling I got lost not even for a second.

It was like "walk in the park" with good and reliable hiking shoes ofcourse, with almost like feeling I was there before.

Realized I achieved two hills before reaching St. Lovrenc, with a lovely narrow path threw the woods, grass fields and a tiny bit of rocky terrain.

When I walked for over hour and a half I knew I must be getting close. On way to my goal I started realizing the grass has a lot more blooming flowers in it "than usual".

I don't know many flowers, but I normally do give away lot of flowers I collect to ladies that deserve them, especially my mother. Usually never bring goods like candies or chocolate, I'm more of a nature guy, with as much respect to our mother nature as possible, so I love to suprise people with what nature has to offer, from flowers, tea's and soon there will also be mushrooms!

When I saw the church on top of a hill, I knew it's St. Lovrenc and getting nere it started feeling weird and powerful. Seeing signs of rare and protected flowers, herbs, even animals like birds and owls.

A Natural Monument (The habitat of Clusius' Gentian)

Unfertilized meadows around the St. Lovrenc church, which are cut once a year, allow survival of endangered and protected plant species. Most known as Clusious' Gentian(Gentiana clusii) normally characteristic of the Alpine region, accompained by Carniolan Lily, several orchid species and endemic Thora buttercup.

Was stunned by the beauty and all the variety of flowers I've never seen before. Took me over 20 minutes to get to the church, when I got there it felt amazing and mission accomplished after finding I think all of these rere magnificent flowers. Soon after I went back on the path back to my car as I was getting hungry and was time to make a well deserved lounch.
