Hello.
How are you all my dear friends? I hope you are all well. In today's post I have shared with you an unforgettable moment spent in the vicinity of nature. These photographs were captured on camera during a visit to Kumbhalgarh. Kumbhalgarh is a place surrounded by mountains and endowed with the beauty of nature.
Kumbhalgarh has a hot and dry climate during the summer so traveling here is quite exhausting during this time. Winters (October to February) are a good time to visit Kumbhalgarh, as this season is quite good for sightseeing. The chances of spotting wild animals in the wildlife sanctuary are also very high during this season.
There is a famous fort in Kumbhalgarh. Unfortunately due to heavy rains we could not visit it. But I will give you information about the fort through this post.
Kumbhalgarh Fort is a major tourist destination of Rajasthan which is situated at a distance of 82 km to the north-west of Udaipur city in Rajsamand district. Kumbhalgarh Fort is one of the five hill forts in the state of Rajasthan which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the year 2013.
Built on the foothills of the Aravalli ranges, this fort is surrounded by thirteen hill peaks of the range and is situated at an altitude of 1,914 meters. This charming fort is situated amidst a forest which has been converted into a wildlife sanctuary. This fort Chittorgarh palace is the second largest and most special Mewar fort of Rajasthan, seeing which one can be attracted towards it.
A very interesting story comes out in the history of Kumbhalgarh Fort. According to which when Rana Kumbha started the construction of the fort, he had to face many difficulties after which he thought of giving up the work of its construction.
But one day he met a holy man who advised him not to abandon the construction of this fort and said that one day all his problems would be solved. Provided that any holy person voluntarily sacrifices his life. Hearing this the king was disheartened after which the holy man offered his life to the king. The man asked the king to construct the entrance gate of Kumbhalgarh fort. Following the advice of that person, Rana Kumbha did what he was told and he was successful in building this majestic fort.
Kumbhalgarh marked different areas between Mewar and Marwar and this place was used to escape whenever there was an attack. Prince Uday also ruled over Kumbhalgarh Fort and was the founder of Udaipur city.
The fort continued to exist between Raja Man Singh of Amber, Raja Udai Singh of Marwar and the Mirz of Gujarat. Kumbhalgarh Fort is also known as the place where Maharana Pratap was born and this fort was attacked by Ahmed Shah I of Gujarat in 1457.
The local people here believe that Banmata Devi was present in the fort who guarded this fort, whose temple was destroyed by Ahmed Shah. After this, many attempts were made by Mohammad Khilji to acquire this fort in 1458-59 and 1467. But in 1576, Akbar's general, Shambhaj Khan, took over the fort. After this the temples were also captured along with the Marathas and buildings.
