These photos were taken at a nearby apple orchard in the Driftless section of Minnesota. It's a nice little farm; plenty of cattle, farm animals, barns, raspberries, growing apples, and plenty of animal smell in the air. With temperatures somewhat cooler, I thought it would be a fun solo adventure and a chance to take some photos. The farm itself was part of an open house program, where in folks could drive to the area and take in the views. You could learn about apple growth, apple fermentation, cider production, and even vinegar production. I just went to take photos, however; if you do need some instruction on apple cider fermentation, I'd be happy to provide some advice!

Yet my favorite part of the area had to be the small number of farm animals on the scene.
Of course, no photowalking trip would be complete with a few wildflower shots. I do love my wildflowers, and I've definitely become more interested in learning about them over the past few months. So many to catalog and photograph.
For a photowalking adventure, not bad! If anything, despite the cloudy skies and thunderstorms north of me, the trip was fun and something different. Not all Driftless photos need to include the Mississippi River, right?
Wh doesn't love baby pigs? The little ones burned out pretty quick after feeding...and the mom slept the entire time.
