My perspective on a city called Dresden #4

To put all this in a bit of context

I want to tell you that I have been living in the city called Dresden for 33 years of my life and never thought of leaving. But life sometimes works differently than you might expect and so I have been now 6 years away from my home town - mostly sailing around in Europe.

I want to use the time

and show you my perspective about Dresden in a series of 5 photos per post that I have taken over the years.

Sometimes you need to be in the right spot at the the right time. In my experience this does not happen to often but when it does you can get a photo like this. I was walking around the inner city to find a good vantage point while the weather was getting worse and then this happen.

It was a cold autumn day

and the sun was exactly behind the mayors house and this shadow was just meant to be photographed i thought =)

Another photo from the region of Dresden

where wine is being grown. It takes quite some effort to get one of these views since you always need to go out and wait for a opportunity to appear. This eve was on my side!

On the outskirts of Dresden

you will find quite a bunch of little lakes that were dug during the socialist era after the war. Later they were flooded and are now widely used as spot to jump into the water. A side of Dresden that is not too often photographed or talked about!

Me standing on

a huge pile of dirt in the city. I think back in that time they were building a enormous settlement in a once bombed down area of the town. One night I sneaked into that location and too some photos. I am not encouraging criminal behavior but I also beliefe that you need to take risks to have a great outcome :-P

This it is for today - soon another 5 photos :)
