Este es mi primer foto en la comunidad de Photography Lovers.
Frecuentemente me preguntan por qué sacar fotografía en blanco y negro, en particular cuando se trata de flores. Usualmente se convierte una imagen a tono monocromático cuando el color de esta no es “muy expresivo”, buscando así resaltar las texturas y otros características de las imágenes. Sin embrago cuando se trata de fotografías de flores dónde el color juega un rol importante, es aún más exigente presentar las imágenes en blanco y negro.
This is my first post in the community “Photography Lovers”.
Frequently I am asked “Why do you convert photos to black and white, specially with flowers?”. It is true that we usually convert images into monochromatic format when the color of the photo is not “expressive” or “meaningful”. However this is not true (in general) with flowers. With black and white we search for textures and other features in order to enhanced them, therefore it is more challenging to use b&w with flowers.
Las fotos que presento se trata de una serie de hibiscus, hibiscos o cayenas. Las versión en su color original (bien llamativo por cierto) las publiqué recientemente en este post. Como pueden ver el convertir estas imágenes al blanco y negro presenta un reto, más un cuando uno espera que el resultado sea atractivo. Estuve buscando resaltar texturas y contrastas de claroscuros.

Convertir una foto en su formato original a blanco y negro es todo un arte, y no tiene nada de automático como mucha gente, ajena al mundo de la fotografía, piensa. Entrar en detalles esta mas allá de los alcances de este post.
As you can image to transform the color images into black and white is not easy, it is an art. However many people, outside the world of photography think this is an automatic task. I will not enter in details of how to transform the images into b&w, because it is beyond the scope of the present post.
