The general rule is that the more light you get in the photos the better they look. However, I found myself liking more low light photos. They add a sense of mystery to the photos.
Also one of the reasons why models like to pose is to feel beautiful and sexy, however they do not want to look vulgar or cheap. Working in low light helps keeping images classy and to tease without revealing too much.
It takes much more time and effort to get nice images in low light but I think it's worth it. You can get creative with lights and shadows and the images will also be a better representation of your artistic side since the outcomes will be the result of your work and not just a point and shoot image.
