After the painful confinements caused by that authentic, invisible and sinister Lady with the Scythe, which is the pandemic known as Covid-19 and seeing how the environment is still more compromised, it is a real pleasure to see how in my city, Madrid, normality is gradually recovering.
And from the hand of that apparent but happy normality, how old customs re-materialize, in projects aimed at alleviating the serious effects of pollution as much as possible and granting citizens the right to walk, either by walking well. in non-polluting vehicles, such as bicycles, through the main arteries of the capital.
One of them, which is part of the newly named Paseo de la Luz, with the European acquiescence that makes it a Historical and Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is the Paseo del Prado and its junction with the Paseo de Recoletos towards the Plaza de Colón and the Paseo de la Castellana.
Every Sunday, under the motto of ‘Come back to feel Madrid’, traffic is abolished, at least for a few hours, and citizens regain a space, generally invaded by the intense traffic that characterizes the city.
Many are also drivers who leave the vehicle at home and, opting for public transport or walking, contribute, in some way, to making the environment more sustainable.
For this reason, from this humble entry, I want to invite you, as far as possible, that you also join this initiative and experience Madrid in a different way.
