Hi friends, good vibes to all.
One of the things I like most about photography is that we can invent anything or any world we have in our minds and that we can imagine. That's what I've been doing lately since my photographic work is a bit on stand by, this is because I'm taking some time to create new ideas and because sometimes you simply need some free time to reorganize your mind.
It is not very different from what I do with the flowers, with them I just arrive, appreciate them and take the pictures; here it is almost the same with the difference that I have to go a step further in terms of creativity since I have to think a little bit about how I am going to place each toy car, for example.
The way you place the cars is important, although it may not seem so, because thanks to that our mind works and visualizes how the final photograph is going to look like. The idea is also to try as much as possible that among the photos we take there are not so many similarities so that there is logically more variety when it comes to see the captures.
The key, I think, is the photo that is taken before making the "click" with our cameras, that is, what we think before taking the picture. To take a picture you first have to think about it and then take that thought to the camera to capture it so that it gives us as a result what we imagine.
This type of photography is very much about that because being more or less realistic it is very important to understand all the elements, such as perspective. It is very easy not to take care of the proportions and dimensions of the objects and that will cause the effect we are looking for to be lost, but what is that effect? - In a few words, that the toys look as if they were of an average size.
With this picture I show you an example of what I was talking about. The idea of the whole thing is to make our toy car look as real as possible, does it look real? - You tell me. Another thing that helps a lot is the blur or the depth of field, since eliminating all the factors and elements that are around helps us to keep the focus on our object, giving it much more perspective and therefore more realism.
Finally, another thing that can be done to highlight this type of photos is to use elements that we can find in our environment. In this case I used some small fallen flowers that were around to give a little more body and that the photograph is not just the cars and that's it.
It is very possible that a flower is not the size of a car door, with this I say that in this case the realism that we had before may have been lost a little but it does not matter because we have a different and rare photo.
In conclusion these photographs are a lot of fun to take and to appreciate, I always enjoy taking them because it's like being a kid again and playing with toy cars. It's not silly or immature, there are people who make a living doing this kind of photography and that's something I consider really amazing.
Lots of creativity and previewing is the key to success and obviously practice. Follow these steps and little by little the results will come by themselves.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos vemos en la próxima!
