Today, I am going to prattle on for a minute about technology. Or as people in the biz call it, TEC.
TEC What’s that you say? You’re not sure what this space-age technology is? Well, it’s time you found out. At first, I was like, what’s all this talk about TEC? But it wasn’t long before it all started to make sense. It’s a machine that can do a lot of different things- some great and some kind of terrifying!
Personally, I flip back and forth between dystopian and utopian outlooks on the future, based on the advent of new technology. Will the AI overlord that is inevitably coming, bring us enlightenment to the new age, help us develop technologies beyond our wildest dreams, or based on simple programming logic, not necessarily with malevolence intent, destroy all humans. Both are very real possibilities in this world...
I don't think necessarily, the AI overlord will be like... "I have to kill humans because" nah, but it might just be a byproduct of it trying to achieve its core directives. Like I need more power to do something, I need to put these solar panels here, but look here is a city with humans, My core directive is more important, so, plow over the city to put solar panels. That sort of scenario, I think, can play out. Do I hope so, no... I kind of enjoy our reality the way it is.
On the other hand, having a vastly superior intelligent being as a friend, we can ask it to develop a cure for any disease, ask it to design a new interdimensional travel device, all these things it can do... so the risk and the reward are both so so so great.
Today's photos do not have anything to do with AI. But a piece of forgotten hardware, left at the base of the under construction, but forgotten about, Golden Swan Hotel. I walked past it every day, but today it was covered in rain, it looked really cool, so... Picture time. Lets get to it!

For today's photos we will start small and eventually reveal what the technology is. But it does involve around construction as you can tell with the first photo as diamond patterned steel step plate.
When I saw this I initially thought about 2001 a space Odyssey... And that demonic robot AI controlling the ship... I wonder if this technology would now do this every decaying eye the world?
These little rusted bits and bobs reminded me of chared skulls, left over after the human robot apocalypse.
Crying metal, last bits of organic substance dripping off the side of hard metal... I wonder if a robotic species would care about paint color.
for reall, these repeating patterns look so cool, at least to me.
We also have these antiquated warning signs that I don't know if anybody pays attention to
But this one just begs us to pay attention, to safety that is!

I keep coming back to these this is the base picture of what is after this
I took that photo and then flipped it manipulated it all just a bit... multiple laser cut shapes, like some weird sci-fi city.

It is one of those things that hauls people and material up and down the side of a building under construction. Once it was in use, now has sat for over two years resting, rusting... A piece of forgotten TEC, left to watch the world develop and move on, a symbol of a time long ago.
