Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I'm here with some fun photos of a beautiful place we visited: The Flume Gorge in the White Mountains, New Hampshire!

Flume Gorge

The Flume Gorge is a fun place to go visit if you have the time. It's nested in the valley that is near the Old Man on the Mountain in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. It's really a beautiful place to go! The valley is quite large, for one in an old area like the Appalachians. Not as crazy as stuff in the Rockies or anything but still beautiful!

There were also some pretty cool things to see before we even got into the hike. These stage coaches were used a long time ago in the area to bring people around. You can kind of see the Old Man on the Mountain on the door to the coach!

I don't know if this is a painting of the flume or what but it looks pretty cool! I like that you can see it without the people. That's hard to get sometimes lol there's always lots of people exploring it!

The flume area is really beautiful for the different paths you can see the water flowing and making grooves in the giant granite boulders.

Some of my favorite pictures are the ones where you can see some flowing water and the slight blur to the water that's moving down rocks and stuff. There was plenty of that around here!

There were these really large pools that look like a lot of fun to go swimming! Apparently swimming in them is frowned upon though, there were quite a few signs of "no swimming" which is a shame! I guess they don't want to have to rescue people if they don't know how to swim. The hike up and down is a bit grueling if paramedics have to do that. Still unfortunate that we can't jump in there!

The water looked so inviting on the nice warm day lol

There were a couple bridges that were crossing the different valleys that were in the area. This one was the biggest one and it was awesome! The river constantly flowing underneath it was nice. Hard to tell when you are on it but the bridge has a slight elevation to it which I didn't really realize until taking the photo!

Walking up to the bridge was cool. You could kind of see people making their way around something and boom, you get the view. Was interesting to see it pop up.

On the way down to the bridge there was a nice river that was flowing down the rocks leading to the flow that went underneath it.

Lots of small rapids darting the area.

This is the view from the bridge above. Love the stepped look of the water as it's flowing down the rocks.

There is a great panoramic view of the mountains and area from the peak of the trail. It was wonderful to see so far! The day was nearly cloudless, you could see for dozens of miles.

It would be cool to have something that we could compare our view to what's in front of us. What are those mountains really far away? Is that Vermont or do we see as far as Canada? Would be interesting to figure that out!

I think this is my favorite picture of the day. Very small but awesome looking waterfall! I love the lens that we bought for our camera, lets us take really crisp pictures for sure.

Another interesting view of a river flowing towards us over the cool rocks!

A view of down the same river except in the opposite direction.

Thanks for checking out the pictures! All of these were taken by me with our Canon DSLR with a 50mm lens.
