This beautiful leaf ornamental plant in Indonesia is known as Puring. Puring is a popular garden ornamental plant in the form of shrubs with very varied leaf shapes and colors. This plant has the scientific name Codiaeum variegatum.
Various cultivars have been developed with variations in color from yellow, orange, red, purple, green and their mixtures. The shape of the leaves also varies: elongated, oval, wavy edges, the strands are broken and so on. It is suitable for planting in open areas, although it is possible to make Puring as an indoor ornamental plant.
Puring or also known as Croton comes from the Archipelago (Indonesia), but has now spread throughout the tropics and subtropics. It is also said that Puring are native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. In the forest, they grow as large shrubs, reaching up to 10 feet tall.
