Children portraits in Askoli

Askoli village, Gilgit-Baltistan region, Karakorum, Pakistan.

Here some portraits of children.

Somatic features of faces are similar to Afghans.
These places has been a crossroads of peoples for many centuries, starting from Alexander the Great (Alessandro Magno in Italian language), the conqueror of these valleys during 3rd century BC.

As stranger, we were welcomed very well!
I have taken these pics outside a school, where children were together with parents, and they were very happy (and also a little embarrassed) to pose for us.

Truly amazing and deep eye color and shades:

I specially love the mix between seriousness, proud, joy and curiosity. I love also clothes and scarf colors!

Stay strong and happy, you are the future!!

Pictures taken with Sony Alpha 7iii.
August 2022.
