Type O Negative - I Don't Wanna Be Me
I came across this piece through the band Trivium playing the cover, but it was a too metal style for me and I went to listen to the original. The video is quite funny but in fact, the song is about serious and very problematic and sad matters. Yes, frontman Peter Steele died in 2010 and Type 0 Negative with him.
Gary Floyd - A Better Man
Gary is a great singer and songwriter. In this song, he flirts with the blues and does it superbly. Worth 4 minutes of your time.
King Buzzo - Rough Democracy
King Buzzo is a new discovery for me. I knew Melvins because I had listened to them a little bit in the past, but I didn’t know he is their guitarist. This is one of his older pieces, also played by Melvins but it shows very well his superb guitar playing. Exceptional. btw: also new solo album which came out recently is very good.
Allah-Las - Catamaran
And now again a band, which reminds me of the vanished psychedelic sixties. They emerged as a new psychedelia at about the same time as Tame Impala and they also have a hint of some nostalgia. I don't know, maybe it's a personal deja-vu feeling, but when I hear such music, it's as if I listened to it as a child ... and I can't get enough of it ...
Idris Ackamoor - Salvation
Idris Ackamoor or Bruce Baker is a new artist to me. As I make some research, found that it's a multi-dimensional artist, musician, composer, actor, and most known as a director of world music ensemble The Pyramids for more than 50 years! In the music, I can recognize jazz-fusion-afrobeat, on some moments the sound remembers me to a Fela Kuti. Highly recommend.
Wolfmother - Woman
Another old band and fresh for me. These guys have Led Zeppelin's influence for sure. Uncompromising and melodic guitar rock that will surely delight many others not me only.
