New Tunes 1.10.2020

Hello music lovers! πŸ“» 🎧 🎀 🎢 🎼 πŸ“’

This week is passing fast, and I also found some new music for me. I mostly listened to β€œeasy listening” sounds. More or less slow melodies with pronounced vocals and various musical instruments.
And the tunes go to the ear very quickly.

If someone finds something interesting for themselves, it's fine, if not it's ok too.

Chelsea Wolfe - Winter

The beautiful voice and lyrics composed and performed by California singer-songwriter Chelsea Wolfe attracted me almost immediately. Although music critics mention her in connection with gothic rock, metal, and folk music, I would place her in a femme fatalle story somewhere between P.J. Harvey and Grace Slick.

Forest Swords - Friend, You Will Never Learn

Forest Swords (or Matthew Barnes), English producer, composer and DJ gives us here one sympathetic sound miniature, musically simple, stylistically very mixed and undefined, perhaps belonging to an early dub from the 1990s, and a very listenable story.

Archive - Again

English progressive rock band Archive has been performing since 1994, although it had already stopped several times and reformed again. The music is always likable, progressive, a bit darker, rhythmic, and multi-instrumental. They are still not boring.

Killdozer & Alice Donut - Age of Aquarius/ Let the Sun Shine In

I came across this adaptation by accident. Two punk bands - Killdozer and Alice Donut together play a cover of hippie music to which punks spit the most. A rarity, no doubt.

Dope Lemon - Hey You

Dope Lemon aka Angus Stone is an Australian folk singer, songwriter and recording engineer. This piece is reminiscent of former troubadours like Dylan and Young who were his influences, and music critics say his music is β€œlaidback coastal rock”. Well, I like this style :)

PIXIES - Hear Me Out

Last week was the premiere of this video of the legendary Pixies on YouTube. Still, after all these years, they sound like old Pixies, great. Congrats.

Emancipator - Anthem

Lo-fi and hip-hop, violins, and pleasant vocals have always been a trademark of Emancipator or Douglas Appling, a DJ and producer from Portland. Most of his musical creations sound like mighty hymns, elegies, or ode. This one too.

Eric Burdon & War - Tobacco Road

This is very old archive footage by German TV. Unfortunately, the always underrated Eric Burdon shows us the freshness, rhythm, and masterful use of the instruments. Even after the fifty years very noticeable.

Agnes Obel - The Curse

And for the last tune, must say thank you to @ewkaw, who share this masterpiece of Danish singer and pianist Agnes Obel. The piece just fits into his monochrome Dry summer bits post.
