Shiver are 5 boys from Lecco, a nice little town on the shores of Lake Como.
They have a compact sound, plenty of acoustic instruments; Banjo, Brass, a subtle drummer and a clean crystal voice.
The singer has a typical Italian voice, well-modulated, with a "sweet-tooth" for deep "artistic-pathos".
The style of singing reminds me of the old "Italian songwriters" such as Guccini, Lolli, De Andrè, but with a higher pitch and perfect tuning. In other words the singer is very talented 😍
Obviously - due to their incredible skills - they had the chance to go on tour with another more famous Italian songwriter from Lake Como, Davide Van De Sfroos , who was in SanRemo for several editions.
SanRemo is an iconic "stage" in Italy.
As an Italian musician you "have to be there", if you need to promote your song on a national level you "must" perform at SanRemo.
So far The Shiver avoided the big competition of SanRemo by forced choice, they went on tour as the "official opening-band" for Van De Sfroos, and that created also a lot of popularity around this group with "deep-folkloric-Italian-roots.
The opportunity to perform all over Italy with Davide gave them a wider audience.
"Tha band" went to the most remote "villages" performing all over the peninsula. Richer in experience and with new ideas, the Shiver are back working in studio, at the LDC recording studios in Mantova, Italy.
Let's talk about the "product"
I had the good fortune to work with the "sound engineer" of the band, Vitty "Il Magro"; on my "acoustic" album, on the LDP label.

Vitty has a very unique way to approach music "in studio".
I remember, during the "recording section" for my album - Cartoline da Callisto - Vitty was able to catch my emotions, not just a well built drop of guitar, but my deepest emotions.
And that's what he is doing with the Shiver. Vitty follows you patiently as a father would do with his children.
Vitty slowly moves from one song to another leaving you "jaw-dropped" with his incredible "magic-wisdom", like a "patient-farmer" takes care of his "creatures".
He is now distributing press releases and proposing the band to a wider audience, he asked me to listen , and if i liked it to write about this incredible band on blockchain.
Well, what do you think? I guess they deserve to be known worldwide in the circle of "experts of music" don't they.
Now, these guys are really into folk.
And it is a very special kind of folk, with plenty of "deep-down-Italian-roots" accents, and with a sort of mellow "American-sound". They are mixing rock-ballads with country-influence in an explosive and strong cocktail that is faithful to acoustic music.
As previously mentioned, the music is clean and direct and the beat is on without a minute of rest, doesn't stop for a moment. Moreover, the music proposed by these "villains of rock" is soft, fluffy, airy.. easy to listen to and easy to fall in love with.
