My Actifit Report Card and Update: May 1 2020

Hi Everyone,

I am back with another Actifit Report and Update. I have been less frequent with reports over the past couple of months because I have struggled to reach 5,000 counts because of the lockdown.

My recent absence has been because my Fitbit watch strap broke. The strap has broken a few times but I have made some repairs and it has been OK. This time it was beyond repair. So I order a new strap online. It took a few days to arrive. Therefore, I did not use the Fitbit to record my counts. I also thought it was not worth switching back to the Actifit App to record the counts.

The picture above shows a comparison between my beaten up old rubber strap and the much improved metal strap. I think the metal strap will last a lot longer than the rubber one. The new strap was a little large. I removed two links so that it will fit nicely. It was fairly easy to do as the strap came with a kit for removing links.

My Content Update

As I have not provided an update in almost two weeks, I have put out four posts. Three from this account and one from my @captainhive account. The three posts from this account were about Covid-19 and the @captainhive post was about some of the PNGs I have made in relation to Covid-19. The @captainhive content is of a much lighter nature.

The thrree Covid-19 posts wrapped up my 8 part series which investigates the social and economic impacts of the pandemic. Part 6 of the series focused on the likely social costs of the measures used to combat Covid-19. Part 7 looked at the likely winners and losers from the pandemic. The winners section of the post is more important as less attention is paid to those that stand to gain. Part 8 discusses what could happen after the pandemic. Will things be worse or will we learn from our mistakes and be on a path to a better world?

Below are the links to Part 6, 7, and 8.

Part 6: Expected Social Costs

Part 7: Winners and Losers

Part 8: The road ahead

I am currently working on a post that summarises the key points from each of the 8 posts. After that post, I will take a break from writing about Covid-19.

That brings me to the end of this long overdue Actifit Report and Update. I hope everyone is well and surviving the lockdown. I hope to be back with my reports on a weekly basis again. Take care.
