On the occasion of the trip to the Passport Office with the Baby, as befits me, I did not push the car almost to the office, and I culturally parked below the shopping mall in the centre and walked with delight around the city center.

Szare, przykurzone.

Amazing, I used to think this town was ugly. Gray, dusty. How to compare it to Krakow, Wrocław or Poznań. It was my city, I used to have it every day, so I didn't see anything interesting here.

Dzisiaj Katowice są dla mnie fascynującym miejscem. To one się tak zmieniły, czy ja...?

Today, Katowice is a fascinating place for me. They changed so much, or did I ...?

Gmachy, gmaszyska. Modernizm i secesja.

Buildings, edifices. Modernism and Art Nouveau. A city of contrasts? Maybe, especially in places such as the benches at Jagiellońska Street: on one of them sits a fashionable man with a McBook and white headphones without a cable in his ears, on the neighboring one there are two tramps, at the sight of which you do not want to take a deep breath.

A modern space has been built on the roof of this tenement house on Jagiellońska Street.

Woman, why are you stopping, why are you taking these photos? Nothing interesting here, move on, don't block the road with this stroller.
I used to go this way every day, too, and nothing moved me either.

Największy problem miasta to niezmiennie wszechobecna samochodoza.

The city's biggest problem is the ubiquitous automobile. Cars are everywhere. But maybe this will change, Mariacka has been given to pedestrians for a long time, and now the cars have also been torn out of Dworcowa, and although you can complain about concrete and the lack of greenery, it's still nice to see that people are eagerly using this new space.

No i Galeria Katowicka.

And Katowice Gallery. A place criticized by many. As for me, a positive change - there were times before that there was no living soul except bums, and today it is full of people. It is a pity that such an important issue as efficient communication in the city had not been considered and that it was literally destroyed on the occasion of this investment. Previously, the transfer centers operated on their own, without any investments - people knew that in Brynów, the bus to the center was the least frequent every 10 minutes, and they took it there. Now the stops in the center are scattered so no investment in modern interchange centers will do anything good, unfortunately.
