To moje pierwsze wakacje nad polskim morzem od lat dzieciństwa. W późniejszym okresie miałam okazję wpaść na chwilę nad morze, ale poza sezonem oraz w inne kierunki - Trójmiasto, czy Rewa, które to miejscowości bardzo lubię.
A jak jest z Kołobrzegiem? Ano różnie.
The followers of my struggles with Actifit know very well that I spent the last two weeks on the Baltic Sea, in Kołobrzeg. This is my first vacation at the Polish seaside since childhood. In last couple years, I had the opportunity to drop by the sea for a while, but out of season and in other directions - Tricity or Rewa, which I like very much.
And how is it with Kołobrzeg? Well, it depends.

Dobra, wiem, byłam nad polskim morzem w szczycie sezonu. Ale promenada i okolice są wręcz trudne do przejścia, i to nie tylko dla osoby z wózkiem. Plaże ładne, piaszczyste i szerokie, ale na deptaku pełno standardowego plastikowego kurortowego badziewia. Ogólnie - nic specjalnego.
Okay, I know, I was at the Polish seaside in the high season. But the promenade and its surroundings are difficult to walk, and not only for a person with a stroller. Nice, sandy and wide beaches, but the promenade is full of standard plastic resort crap. Overall - nothing special.

Kołobrzeg ma parę zabytków, takich jak latarnia morska z 1945 roku, Ratusz Miejski, Bazylika czy Baszta Prochowa. Oprócz tego jednak architektura jest moim zdaniem nieciekawa, przynajmniej w częściach Kołobrzegu, które miałam okazję oglądać.
Kołobrzeg has several monuments, such as the 1945 lighthouse, the Town Hall, the Basilica and the Powder Tower. Apart from that, however, the architecture is in my opinion uninteresting, at least in the parts of Kołobrzeg that I had the opportunity to see.

Czy zatem Kołobrzeg nie jest ciekawym miejscem podróży? Ależ jest, ja byłam zachwycona, ale to głównie dzięki temu, że nie mieszkaliśmy w centrum Kołobrzegu, a oddalonym o parę kilometrów sanatorium w Podczelu.
So is Kołobrzeg not an interesting travel destination? Yes it is, I was delighted, thanks to the fact that we did not live in the center of Kołobrzeg, but a sanatorium in Podczel, a few kilometers away.

Cisza, spokój. Ośrodek w środku lasu pełnego wielkich, starych drzew. Sami emeryci i my. Jeśli chcesz iść na plażę, czeka Cię kilometrowy spacer, najpierw przez las, a potem po grobli. Po jej obu stronach rozpościerają się rozlewiska, gdzie bytują dzikie ptaki - bardzo dużo kaczek, łabędzi i kormoranów, a także czapla biała oraz wiele innych rzadkich gatunków.
Silence, peace. A resort in the middle of a forest full of big old trees. The pensioners themselves and us. If you want to go to the beach, you have a kilometer walk, first through the forest and then over the dike. On both sides of it there are swamps with wild birds - a lot of ducks, swans and cormorants, as well as great herons and many other rare species.

Plaże na uboczu Kołobrzegu również są bardziej zachwycające.
The beaches on the sidelines of Kołobrzeg are also more delightful than in the center.
Ścieżki piesze i rowerowe / Walking and cycling paths
Na odrębną uwagę zasługują ścieżki pieszo-rowerowe wzdłuż wybrzeża. Spacer lub przejażdżka dobrej jakości ścieżką z takim widokiem to najczystsza przyjemność. Niestety, amatorów aktywnej formy spędzania wolnego czasu w tym miejscu jest mnóstwo. Problem polega na tym, że ścieżka ta jest zdecydowanie za wąska jak na natężenie ruchu, przynajmniej na odcinku blisko Kołobrzegu. Tak czy siak, fajnie że te ścieżki są.
Walking and cycling paths along the coast deserve a separate attention. A walk or a ride on a good quality path with such a view is the purest pleasure. Unfortunately, there are many amateurs of active forms of spending free time in this place. The problem is that this path is definitely too narrow for the traffic volume, at least in the section close to Kołobrzeg. Anyway, it's great that these paths are there.
