Funny how people compare themselves with other people who didn't make them, form them, create them.
People who don't even know them by their name. People who don't even know their existence.
They make the mistake of measuring their life and progress with that of another person.
Most of these people don't even know how those people they are comparing themselves to start, the things they faced, the hurdles, the storms they experienced. The stones and stumbling block they had to push aside and out of their way just to keep pressing forward.
And most times, they don't even care how it came to be yet they are busy measuring and comparing themselves with another group of persons.
The truth is even if you guys started with a few folks you will never arrive at the same time and the same place.
You can never be at the same height as another person. It's just not possible, even if the person were to be your twin sister or brother.
That you arrived planet earth with that fellow sister or brother of yours, even in the same hospital, it doesn't mean that you two have the same purpose on earth and it doesn't also mean that God will work in you two the same way.
There is a purpose and reason for our creation.
And until we know this, we may never stop looking at others and comparing or measuring our life or progress with them.
A Work In Progress
I am a work in progress. You are a work in progress.
Every day God is doing something new, unique, and outstanding in our lives.
We aren't in the place we wish or desire to be because we are but an unfinished project.
God is still working his business in us and with us
He hasn't finished yet and until he is, we should always remember that we are a work in progress.
If God started something, he is always bound to finish it or compete it.
He never leaves his project or work halfway so you don't have to worry.
Your life may really be messy right now.
Things may not be working out for you.
Your plans may be failing and it seems the whole world is against you but trust me that God has you in mind and he hasn't forsaken or forgotten you.
He likes keeping quiet to watch and test our faith sometimes
He appears and turns things around for us in a grand style.
Work Done?
Until then, we should always remember and keep in mind that we are still in the working phase and not yet done.
We shouldn't measure our growth and progress with anyone.
We should not start comparing ourselves with other people that perhaps God has finished with.
But rather, we should take notes of the things God is doing in our lives. The things he is subtracting from our lives and the ones he is adding.
We should be conscious of these while in the work process.
Just to remind you that you are God's own, very special and unique.
I want to remind you that he loves you and he is carefully handling your affairs
So you should in no way keep track of other people to make comparisons or measurements.
Focus more on yourself, your growth, and progress so that you will be able to give honor to whom honor is due when the right time comes or approaches.
If you aren't focused to take notes of all these things, you may miss out and not even know what difference it makes.
So pull yourself together and remember that God cares for you and that you are "A Work In Progress".
Never forget this and never give room for hatred and jealousy, not even envy.
Be happy and satisfied with your status in life, your little accomplishment and all.
Be contented with the things God has provided you now and he will do more for you.
Stay faithful and have a beautiful Lord's Day.
