Infiltrate and Extract

They say the hardest mission to embark on were extraction and infiltration and tonight, Tunde was about to do both.

Tunde knew the mission before him would be a tedious one and he needed to make sure he had everything under control in other to make the mission a successful one. And so he had started early to map out his plan. Timing was everything, it needed to be perfect.

He knew he had to carry out his mission late in the night with little or no source of light at all, so he mastered the layouts. He even closed his eyes and moved around, mentally taking note of where to put his feet and where not to.

After about three hours of rigorous planning and rehearsals, secret agent Tunde felt he was ready for whatever challenges he was going to face tonight. And so with that in mind, he lay perfectly on his bed and waited for nightfall.

At exactly fifteen past ten when Tunde was sure everyone must have gone to bed, he slowly and silently crept out of his. The time was now, he needed to act quick.

With quick strides, Tunde headed for his mission. Infiltrate and Extract was all he needed to do. No one would know he was even there.

The saying that practice makes perfect is true as Tunde didn't find it hard moving around the house even with the whole light out. And within ten minutes, he was already at the exact location he should be. He looked around one last time to make sure the coast was clear before he slowly and quietly opened the pot of soup in the kitchen. All he needed was just a piece of meat and he was good.

He quickly looked over his shoulders again before dipping his hand into the pot which was immediately accompanied by a nice chunk of meat on its way back up. He couldn't resist the urge of wanting a taste that minute and so he gave in. He attacked the piece of meat just like the same way a lion would feast on it prey.

After about another two minutes of him devouring his catch, he decided it would be risky for him to remain at the crime scene so he made to move but the mission wasn't done yet.

Infiltrate and Extract was the plan. He had infiltrated, he needed to leave with something. And so for the second time that night, he dipped his fingers into the pot of soup again but this time, something different happened instead, something magical.

The moment he dipped his hand into the pot of soup was the same moment the lights in the kitchen turned on.

Tunde froze.

He slowly and quietly turned back only to see the angry face of his mother glaring at him. And with soup stains on his mouth and his hand inside the pot of soup, Tunde knew he had no explanation to give, tonight was going to be a long night.
