El día de ayer se corrió la decimo tercera carrera del calendario oficial de la Formula 1, el Gran Premio de los Países Bajos en el circuito de Zandvoort, sin muchas novedades y con ambiente realmente increíble a pesar de los antecedentes que veníamos observando tanto en las prácticas libres como en la misma Pole Position donde hubo par de accidentes pero sin nada grave que lamentar.

Una Pole que ganó el neerlandés seguido muy de cerca por el actual campeón del mundo, Lewis Hamilton, fue lo que verdaderamente definió el podio final ya que en carrera no se hicieron nada de daño, en cuanto a "peleas" por las posiciones.
The result of this award was the product of a master class of Verstappen accompanied by a good strategy of the Red Bull team from the beginning of the race until the end. Y eso es lo que considero que va a seguir sucediendo a lo largo de la temporada, Max viene con un ritmo arrollador con un monoplaza que es una bestia en donde darle caza en el día de la carrera se está convirtiendo en un dolor de cabeza para Hamilton porque salvo ocurra una tragedia es muy complicado pasar por encima del piloto de Red Bull. Y es que hay ser sinceros, el único que puede darle batalla a Verstappen es el británico, los demás están en otra liga.

That said most of the races are being decided by Pole Position results, so whoever wants to win a race or catch a point or two must first do his homework on Saturday; the podium was completed by Valtteri Bottas. It was a special and important victory for Verstappen because he was at home and the warmth of his people was felt during the 71 laps of the circuit.

Con este nuevo primer lugar, Verstappen le vuelve a arrebatar el primer lugar en el Mundial de Pilotos a Hamilton y se coloca con 224.5 puntos por sobre los 221.5 del británico; algo más abajo se encuentra Bottas, Norris y el Checo Pérez. Pero de las cosas que quisiera destacar es el cuarto puesto que estuvo en manos de Pierre Gasly quien durante toda la carrera fue capaz de mantener a raya a los dos Ferrari demostrando una vez que es una de las grandes promesas de este deporte.
With this new first place, Verstappen snatches again the first place in the Drivers' World Championship from Hamilton and is placed with 224.5 points over the 221.5 of the British; a little further down are Bottas, Norris and Checo Perez. But one of the things I would like to highlight is the fourth place that was in the hands of Pierre Gasly who throughout the race was able to keep the two Ferraris at bay, proving once again that he is one of the great promises of this sport.

Tuvieron que pasar 36 años para que se volviera a correr en este circuito de Zandvoort donde el último ganador por allá en 1985 fue Niki Louda quien fuera triple campeón mundial y quien además en esa misma carrera firmara su ultima victoria en la Formula 1. Obviamente era primera vez que veía este circuito y debo decir que me gustó bastante, es una pista muy angosta donde la dificultad para sobrepasar a otros corredores es notoria y donde se aprecian unas curvas con desniveles bastantes cerradas que la verdad ponen a prueba las habilidades de todos los pilotos.
It took 36 years to race again in this circuit of Zandvoort where the last winner back in 1985 was Niki Louda who was triple world champion and who also in that same race signed his last victory in Formula 1. Obviously it was the first time I saw this circuit and I must say that I liked it a lot, it is a very narrow track where the difficulty to overtake other racers is notorious and where you can appreciate some curves with quite sharp slopes that really test the skills of all drivers.
A todo lo anterior hay que agregar el hecho de que está cerca de la playa lo que supone otro inconveniente por la cantidad de viento y el mismo salitre común del ambiente costero. Pero en términos generales y repito, espectacular este circuito y desde ya espero que repita para la temporada que viene.
To all of the above must be added the fact that it is close to the beach which is another inconvenience due to the amount of wind and the same saltpeter common to the coastal environment. But in general terms and I repeat, this circuit was spectacular and I hope to repeat it next season.

En fin, un gran premio que se realizó sin ningún tipo de contratiempos donde los únicos cambios momentáneos de posición se dieron por las entradas a los pits de los pilotos y no por ninguna mala estrategia o adelantamientos en plena carrera; de principio a fin se mantuvieron los lugares, o casi todos, básicamente por lo complicado de la pista y por un clima que ayudó bastante.
All in all, a Grand Prix that took place without any setbacks, where the only momentary changes of position were due to the drivers' pit stops and not due to any bad strategy or overtaking in the middle of the race; from start to finish the places were maintained, or almost all of them, basically because of the complicated track and the weather that helped a lot.
Las posiciones de los equipos la sigue liderando Mercedes con 344.5 puntos, seguido de cerca por Red Bull con 332.5 y de tercer lugar la Ferrari que sube de lugar con 181.5 puntos. La próxima carrera es la semana que viene, domingo 12 de septiembre, en nada más y nada menos que en el mítico Monza en Italia. Así que volveremos a vernos por acá hablando de motores en siete días.
The positions of the teams are still led by Mercedes with 344.5 points, closely followed by Red Bull with 332.5 and in third place Ferrari, which moves up with 181.5 points.
