Der Lockdown ist ja beinahe beendet, so dass es wieder mehr Freizeitmöglichkeiten gibt. Nach langer Zeit haben wir somit am letzten Samstag mal wieder ein neues Restaurant besucht.
Wir sind am späten Nachmittag mit den Fahrrädern bis nach Kleve gefahren und haben dort ein neues Indisches Restaurant besucht. Da Freunde und Bekannte uns dieses empfohlen hatten, wollten wir dieses auch unbedingt einmal ausprobieren.
Etwas zu Essen war schnell auf der Karte gefunden. Leider gab die Getränkeliste jedoch keine Besonderheiten preis, weshalb meine Aussichten auf den Genuss hopfenhaltiger Getränke aus dem bevölkerungsreichstem Land der Welt zunichte gingen.

The lockdown is almost over, so that there are more leisure opportunities again.

After a long time we have thus visited last Saturday a new restaurant.
We went in the late afternoon with the bikes to Kleve and have visited there a new Indian restaurant. Since friends and acquaintances had recommended this to us, we wanted to try this.
Something to eat was quickly found on the menu. Unfortunately, however, the list of beverages did not reveal any specialties, which is why my prospects of enjoying hoppy drinks from the world's most populous country were dashed.

Das Essen wurde uns gebracht und ich bestellte zum Essen ein großes Warsteiner. Als die Teller sich langsam leerten entdeckten meine Augen jedoch plötzlich eine Kellnerin, die auf ihrem Tablett ein Fläschchen balancierte, was mir sehr vielversprechend nach einem mir bislang unbekanntem Bier aussah.

Die Kellnerin wurde schnell herbeigerufen und ein paar Minuten später wurde mir ein eiskaltes „Cobra“ serviert.

The food was brought to us and I ordered a large Warsteiner for dinner.

As the plates slowly emptied, however, my eyes suddenly discovered a waitress balancing a small bottle on her tray, which looked very promising to me like a previously unknown beer.
The waitress was quickly summoned and a few minutes later I was served an ice-cold "Cobra".

Das „Cobra“ machte einen ersten guten Eindruck. Es gibt zwar eigentlich kein Etikett, dafür aber eine schöne Relief-Flasche. Im Glas präsentiert sich das Bier in einem schönen goldgelben Farbton mit einer hübschen festen Schaumkrone. Gebraut wird das [Cobra]( https://www.cobrabeer.com/) allerdings nicht in Indien sondern in England. Der Alkoholgehalt beträgt 4,5% Vol. Der Geschmack des „Cobras“ ist nicht so giftig wie es sich vielleicht anhört. Es ist ein erfrischendes Bier, etwas süß vielleicht aber nichts Besonderes.

The "Cobra" made a good first impression. There is actually no label, but a nice relief bottle. In the glass, the beer presents itself in a beautiful golden yellow hue with a pretty solid foam crown. However, the Cobra is not brewed in India but in England. The alcohol content is 4.5% vol.
The taste of the "Cobra" is not as toxic as it may sound. It is a refreshing beer, a little sweet perhaps but nothing special.

Nachdem ich das Cobra dann ausgetrunken hatte, fragte die Bedienung nach ob ich noch etwas trinken wollte und bot mir ein weiteres Bier an. Bei diesem Bier handeltes sich um ein „Kingfisher Premium Lager Bier“. Gemäß meiner Recherche im Internet handelt es sich hierbei um das am meisten verkaufte Bier in Indien mit einem Marktanteil von 36%. Ein bisschen Skeptisch war ich bei dem Studium der Zutaten: Wasser, Gerstenmalz, Glukose Syrup, gerösteter Weizen, Hopfen, Farbstoff E150c. Glukose Syrup und Farbstoff braucht kein Mensch im Bier.

After I had finished the Cobra, the waitress asked if I wanted another drink and offered me another beer. This beer is a "Kingfisher Premium Lager Beer". According to my research on the Internet, this is the most sold beer in India with a market share of 36%.
I was a bit skeptical when studying the ingredients: Water, barley malt, glucose syrup, roasted wheat, hops, colorant E150c. Glucose syrup and dye no one needs in beer.

Auch das Kingfisher macht einen guten Eindruck im Glas. Schönes gelb und eine Krone, die allerdings etwas schneller zusammenfällt als beim Cobra. Der Geschmack ist dann ziemlich enttäuschend. Es schmeckt mir persönlich viel zu süß und es fehlt das Herbe von einem schönen Bier. Die Süße ist auch nicht malzig sondern hat ihren Ursprung wirklich im Zucker.

Das Bier schmeckt mir leider überhaupt nicht. Beim nächsten Besuch beim Inder wird es wohl eher das Cobra werden.

The Kingfisher also makes a good impression in the glass. Beautiful yellow and a crown, which, however, collapses a bit faster than the Cobra. The taste is then quite disappointing. It tastes much too sweet to me personally and lacks the tartness of a nice beer. The sweetness is also not malty but has its origins really in sugar.

Unfortunately, the beer does not taste good to me at all. The next visit to the Indian it will probably be more the Cobra.
