This week's #beersaturday find is a new Toppling offering. I was not aware the beer even existed but was happy to find it this afternoon after a long day with our daughter. The name of the beer is Witch's Broom, and it's not bad.
The hop profile is a little skunky. From what I can read on the wrap, this one includes Cashmere, Citra, Idaho 7, and Galaxy hops. I don't think I have ever heard of Cashmere hops before this beer. It goes to show how out of touch I am with brewing at this point!
This beer is pretty strong, yet again. Being a double IPA, it is at 7.8% ABV.
The cans are also a big 16-ounce package, so this one smells like witch's trouble, too. Don't worry, I'll still manage a way to get through them this weekend.
It's a good beer...but not my favorite from Toppling. I don't think I like this hop bill quite enough...I'd prefer King Sue to this one, to be honest. It's good to drink, but not my favorite. I gave it a 3.75 out of 5.00 on Untappd.
I knew this was going to be a big beer, so we decided to make some dinner ahead of time. Our Saturday night feast? Well, homemade pizzas of course!
The dough was store-bought, but the creation was all ours.
The final product turned out pretty good; cheese and pepperoni for Hattie, and a deluxe for Liza and myself:
Yum...pizza and DIPAs...a good Saturday night. We also finished up the new Velvet Underground documentary too; a most productive Saturday evening over here.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my #beersaturday. Hoping all others had a good Saturday too!
