Welcome to the weekend, welcome to Saturday, and welcome to Caturday, my favorite day of the week!

It has been a fairly busy week around here, with the Hoomans getting increasingly frantic about being ready for the big event that they're leaving town for, at the beginning of May.

The Dad-Hooman is very busy with his artwork all the time and I try to help him as best I can.

My white cat bed is right in the middle of the Dad-Hooman's work space!

Meanwhile, to Mom-Hooman is always on her computer so I spend a fair amount of time in her office trying to get her to relax a little bit!

She has to make some kind of "presentation" to several hundred people. She's not impressed by my suggestion that she should wow the crowd by showing them her butthole. Works for cats...

Smudge is Norwegian!

Continuing with our speculations that our Smudge must have been a cat that came from a northern climate, we learned from her original Hooman Mom that she was actually born in Norway and brought to the US as a kitten!

For lack of a better term, she is basically a domesticated version of a Norwegian forest cat, so she is used to very cold temperatures and it is quite normal for her to develop a very thick coat in winter to be able to deal with well below freezing temperatures and then to shed it again in spring.

Here relatively small ears is natural as well, evidently reduces the chances of frostbite under extreme cold conditions.

So there's that mystery explained! We had a feeling that there was something going on there that had a natural biological explanation, and it turned out that there was.

As we put this blog post together, Smudge is pretty much done with her spring shed and it coincides with the temperatures getting a little bit warmer.

She's so fluffy!

Today is a generally warm day outside, but it is extremely windy and we can tell that it is spring because the pollen is actually putting a fine coat of yellow powder on everything from the cars to the windows.

Sometimes there are definite advantages to being an indoor cat! I don't think I'd want to breathe all that stuff... I see how often the Hoomans have runny eyes and they're sneezing when they come in from working in their garden.

Half a Bitcoin?

So there was this "Bitcoin Halving" event yesterday in the Cryptosphere, and now — or so says the Dad-Hooman — it is twice as difficult to mine Bitcoin.

I don't know if that really means anything to most of us; we're mostly limited to what we do inside of Hive here and but it does seem like a lot of other crypto tokens follow what Bitcoin does. So since it is now twice as difficult to make Bitcoin one would like to think that the price is going to go up!

Oh, THAT's where that toy went...

Well, I am hearing the sound of dinner being made, so I'd better go and make sure I don't miss out on any treats!
