Mexican Murals - A Corner To Look At [CCC's Street Art Contest #26]

It's the last day of the CCC Street Art Contest again, making me realize I haven't posted in a week. (NOOO!!!) But, as they say, the last one on the train is still on the train. So let me post another cool mural I discovered in the Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City, on the corner of Ave. Tamaulipas and Gral. Benjamín Hill to be precise. It is an image adorning the corner of a building, making it almost seem like it was always intended for it to be on this corner.

Mexican Women, Past and Present

The motive itself is rather interesting, featuring a bunch of Mexican symbology, from the lady with her face painted like the iconic Mexican skeleton Catrina, or the stern faced sun occupying a central position in this image. The lady on the right has flowers in her silver colored hair, suggesting a baroque style, or maybe even contemporary fashion. On the lower part of the painting, you will notice a white dove, as well as an agave plant.

Eva Bracamontes for Sofitel

This time the mural was not only signed by the artist, her name was perfectly easy to identify, as it was written out legibly on the bottom of the image. Her name is Eva Bracamontes and her online presence leaves no questions about who she is or what she does. This particular mural has been commissioned by the hotel group Sofitel. As for the hashtag LiveTheFrenchWay, ... well, you can do a search on it if you're interested.
