Saludos Hivers, explorando las diversas Comunidades de Hive me encontré está Comunidad tan interesante y recordé unas fotos que había tomado recientemente para compartir y hablar de la diversidad.
Este mural se encuentra en la Avenida Victoria en Caracas, Venezuela. Ocupa una cuadra, por eso me fue muy difícil tomarle una foto de frente porque es una avenida muy concurrida y no pude hacerlo más atrás porque es una vía donde transitan muchos vehículos, traté de buscar el mejor ángulo para recoger toda la esencia del mural y luego fui tomando fotos fraccionadas de cada uno de los personajes.
Me llamó mucho la atención esta pintura porque siento que resalta la diversidad, características muy importante del gentilicio de mi país donde esa mezcla de razas dio lugar a nuestra cultura.
A tribute to diversity
Greetings Hivers, while exploring the various Hive Communities I came across this interesting Community and remembered some photos I had taken recently to share and talk about diversity.
This mural is located on Victoria Avenue in Caracas, Venezuela. It occupies a block, so it was very difficult for me to take a picture of it from the front because it is a very busy avenue and I could not do it further back because it is a road where many vehicles travel, I tried to find the best angle to capture the essence of the mural and then I was taking fractional photos of each of the characters.
This painting caught my attention because I feel that it highlights the diversity, very important characteristics of the people of my country where this mixture of races gave rise to our culture.
Sentí los personajes muy reales y expresivos, creo que esa mirada dice mucho. Tal vez es una expresión común en los tres porque los sentí cargados con un poco de tristeza y eso me impresionó un poco. Me parece increíble que a través de una pintura un artista pueda causar ese efecto de transmitir y hacer sentir una emoción. ¡Es posible que al ver estas imágenes te transmitan algo distinto, me encantaría saberlo!.
Los detalles de las cejas, bigotes y cabellos me parecieron muy bien trabajados, y luego me causó curiosidad que todos tienen la boca tapada, ¿habrá querido trasmitir el artista un tema de libertad de expresión? o tal vez que tras esa tristeza hay una historia que no se quiere revelar, ¿un tabú sobre la expresión de las emociones?
Tantas cosas pasaron por mi mente en ese instante en que estuve admirando el mural...
I felt the characters were very real and expressive, I think that look says a lot. Maybe it is a common expression in the three of them because I felt them charged with a bit of sadness and that impressed me a little. It seems incredible to me that through a painting an artist can cause that effect of transmitting and making you feel an emotion, it's possible that when you see these images they transmit something different, I would love to know!
The details of the eyebrows, moustaches and hair seemed to me very well worked, and then I was curious that everyone's mouth is covered, could the artist have wanted to convey a theme of freedom of expression? or maybe behind that sadness there is a story that does not want to reveal, a taboo on the expression of emotions?
So many things went through my mind at that moment when I was admiring the mural?
El 12 de octubre se celebró en muchos países hispanohablantes el "Día de la Raza", y aunque hoy por hoy el tema de la conquista genera mucha polémica y cosas que denunciar como el maltrato de nuestros antepasados y la destrucción de la cultura indígena, si me quedó con la parte positiva de esta historia diría que ganamos en diversidad y eso nos ha permitido ser una cultura muy abierta e inclusiva, con respeto por el otro porque en cada hogar venezolano se vive esta diversidad entre la propia familia y hemos aprendido que el color de la piel no nos hace diferente al otro como personas.

On October 12 was celebrated in many Spanish-speaking countries the "Day of the Race", and although today the theme of the conquest generates much controversy and things to denounce as the mistreatment of our ancestors and the destruction of the indigenous culture, if I stayed with the positive part of this history I would say that we gained in diversity and that has allowed us to be a very open and inclusive culture, with respect for others because in every Venezuelan home we live this diversity among our own people and we have learned that the color of our skin does not make us different from the other as people.
