Sunset in the cemetery

Sunset in the cemetery

When I did a post recently on the Destruction brook trails and mentioned that the photos were sitting in my yet to post folder, and a few commented saying they wondered what else was in that folder, well to be honest I have been so busy out taking photos I haven't done much editing and the folder is pretty sparse, these photos from a walk through the Oak grove Cemetery here in New Bedford the only complete set of photos for a post left in that folder as of Sunday Morning as I prepare this post.

After I finish drafting this post I need to get my act together and do some photo editing, as I do have literally hundreds of photos to review and edit for future posts.

Some of these shots are from literally a year ago today, well yesterday as you read the post today as I prepare it.

Oak Grove cemetery was opened on October 6, 1843, and I think is about 16 Acres in total size.
I have walked through it many times sometimes for photos and sometimes just for exercise as it is fairly close to our house.

It is a beautifully maintained cemetery, I hear most days the ground staff our mowing the lawns and maintaining the property

I don't think I have taken a single sunset photo this year, but with the days getting shorter, I think before to long I may not be getting out so much for my morning walks and will try to get out to some spots here for evening walks and catching some sunsets

Living literally next door to a cemetery I find fine and have no issues with, we do have some friends who say they could never live right beside one, How do you fele about cemeteries?
I find walking through them quite calming in a way especially one that's been round a long time, looking at the headstones and tombs and wondering about the lifes of the people that rest here
