Here are some of the lessons i picked up during the day 4 of the mass indoctrination that took place live on zoom on the 5th of August 2021.
Brother Eli continued his teachings on prayer he mentioned that it must first start with us confessing our faults to people we have offended, what matters most is how your heart is when coming to God in prayers, it must be from the heart as that is how we can effectively connect to God and He’ll listen to us.
James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective
Ephesians 4:31 (NIV)
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
Another important factor is the aspect is believing that He has answered us. As we can see from
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
We should learn to shorten our words when saying prayers to God because when we talk too much we would start repeating our words which is a sign of doubt that God doesn’t hear us. So it is also important that we speak few words and it should be from a clear heart.
Ecclesiastes 5:2 Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
Brother Eli also spoke about the roles of partners in a marriage, husband should respect and value their wives and also understand that they are fragile in nature and should be treated with care and love, likewise the wife should respect the husband and in doing so, God would bless the marriage and the peace of Christ would dwell in their home.
1 Peter 3:7, KJV: "Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered." ... Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.
