Creativity in vibrant colour joining each side of the Melbourne skyline together

Well hello to all of you fellow creative geniuses out there capturing the colours of your days, nights and everything else in between.

I hope that you are all well and healthy and continuing to thrive not only in life, but also on hive.

So today I would like to share with you some photos that I took having a walk down through SouthWharf to Docklands the other night of some awesome #art, unique #urbandesign and #architectureanddesign, before the temperature dropped to almost Antarctic conditions and our 9pm curfew set in...

This walk took me along and across the Yarra River to come across this incredible looking bridge called Webb Bridge and though the shape of the Webb you can see the Bolte Bridge lighting up the background in vivid blue.

Some people refer to it as Fishbone bridge, but it was designed as an analogy of Koori fishing traps and the gestural flow of the Yarra river below by melbourne artist Robert Owen in in collaboration with Denton Corker Marshall, #architects.

A pedestrian/cycle bridge crossing the river Yarra within Melbourne Docklands, the scheme is not only a practical solution to the physical site, conditions and program requirements, but also demonstrates the Docklands Authority commitment to art and innovative architecture in the development of the precinct

WB18png.png

The design developed out of a desire for a symbolic and poetic demonstration of reconciliation and indigenous history provided a source of its inspiration.

WB13png.png

The decommissioned rail bridge, symbol of European culture, is reconciled with the natural and indigenous past.

The resulting structure suggests a new link between the old and new, past and future

WB12png.png

As such, the project addresses aesthetic, historical and symbolic issues as integral components of its design

Webb Bridge won the prestigious RAIA Joseph Reed Urban Design Award 2005 and commendation for Urban Design in the National Awards

I love this bridge, especially at night when it and everything else around it is lit up so brightly
