HOLIDAY PHOTOGRAPHY
This post contains all my own photography, shot on my iPhoneX, in an artistic way to highlight our experiences
I’ve had a blast with my family, being away to a Butlins resort in the UK (Skegness!)
This is actually my old bucket set that we took to the beach. It much be 30 years old but it still has a smile. Glad I can pass it on to my kids to enjoy :)
We luckily picked THE best week of weather we have seen in a long while.
Beautiful sunshine - lots of outdoor attractions - perfect.
For those not familiar with Butlins; it’s a cheap and cheerful seaside holiday resort, with three (I think) locations in the UK.
This is a statue of Billy The Bear. Kids love him.
They provide everything you need in one place; that being accommodation, food, staged entertainment, seaside, funfair, arcades, outdoor and indoor activities - generally designed for families and to keep the kids busy and happy.
All started by Billy Butlin in 1936, an entrepreneur who changed the face of British seaside holidays.
Like I say, it’s a cheap holiday - no frills here, just good general standards and all that you need to have fun.
It’s our first holiday in 18 months, and they dealt with social distancing stuff really easily. Not much had changed to be honest, from our previous visits - just mask wearing, pre-booking some activities, limited space in venues and using the track/trace app upon entering buildings. The rest was brilliant!
These outdoor changing booths by the fountain as were really photogenic
It’s a law of nature that if you put a kid hear a fountain, they will dance around in
Queues for the ice cream we’re long
We did well in the arcades
The gulls were out in force, taking any scraps they could
I really like this shot, it reminds me of an album cover or something. Anyway, the kids loved the swing ride for obvious reasons
We had the best holiday and we’re so very lucky with the weather.
The morning we left was the only day it clouded over and rained. We left just in time. Until the next holiday, we got our fair share of sun, and we said a sad goodbye to a drizzly resort that out a smile back our faces.
