Hello friends of Hive, today I want to share with you another guitar cover I made. This time it's Spiderwebs by the northamerican rock band No Doubt.
No doubt fue fundada en 1986 en Anaheim, California, y permaneció activa desde entonces hasta el año 2015, cuando Gwen Stefany su vocalista se dedicó de lleno a su carrera solista. No Doubt tiene aproximadamente 9 álbumes en su haber, y algunas de las canciones más reconocidas son de sus primeros discos tales como Don’t Speak, Just a Girl, y Spiderwebs.
No Doubt was founded in 1986 in Anaheim, California and remained active since then until 2015, when Gwen Stefany their vocalist dedicated herself fully to her solo career. No Doubt has approximately 9 albums to their credit, and some of the most recognized songs are from their first albums such as Don't Speak, Just a Girl, and Spiderwebs.
Spiderwebs pertenece al álbum Tragic Kingdom lanzado en 1995, es una de mis canciones favoritas, tiene una influencia notable del genero Ska, y en su composición incluye el sonido de trompetas que la convierten en una canción bastante alegre y movida.
Spiderwebs belongs to the album Tragic Kingdom released in 1995, it is one of my favorite songs, it has a notable influence of the Ska genre, and in its composition includes the sound of trumpets that make it a very happy and moving song.
Esta canción es sencilla de tocar en la guitarra, sin embargo, se me dificultó hacer sonar el armónico característico del riff de uno de los versos, tuve que practicarlo mucho para que sonara bien cada vez, para los que no saben qué es un armónico de guitarra, de manera coloquial, es un sonido bastante agudo, que se logra rozando ligeramente la cuerda con el dedo pulgar de la mano derecha, primero se golpea la cuerda con la púa y seguidamente se roza ligeramente con el pulgar, en el cover lo pueden apreciar en el riff del minuto 0:17 al 0:33, dependiendo de las características de cada guitarra resulta más fácil o más difícil tocar los armónicos.
This song is easy to play on the guitar, however, it was difficult for me to make sound the characteristic harmonic of the riff of one of the verses, I had to practice it a lot to make it sound good every time, for those who do not know what a guitar harmonic is, in a colloquial way, it is a quite sharp sound, which is achieved by lightly touching the string with the thumb of the right hand, first you hit the string with the pick and then lightly rubbing it with the thumb, in the cover you can appreciate it in the riff from minute 0: 17 to 0:33, depending on the characteristics of each guitar it is easier or more difficult to play the harmonics.
