Tracking Around Pilgrim Lake

Ep. 6, Rock Faces, and Ground Scenery For Cape Cod Highline

In this episode, I build up the rock faces and spring for Upper Pilgrim Lake, Paint the rock moulds, Seal Lower Pilgrim Lake, Add some Ground cover, and begin finishing the rock painting.

The top of the watefall: Upper Pilgrim Lake, needs more structure, more rock and form to hold the water in, for the waterfall. As well, I seal in the lower and upper lake areas, in preperation of the water resin pours painting and two part resin pour.

Using Woodland Scenics' Hydrocal, I create and pour a layer to seal the bottom of the lake areas, both upper and lower. In addition, I build up the rock, to give some dimension. I will use Yellow Ochre, Slate Gray, Stone Gray, and Black paint washes to blend the rocks into the mountain.

I pour different lightweight hydrocal into silicone moulds, and paint them. Finally, I use Woodland Scenics Ground Cover, to begin fashioning the greenery of the mountaintops!
