Casi nadie sabe de manera consciente lo que es la política, sin embargo, muchos de nosotros la aplicamos sin darnos cuenta. Hoy en día es difícil entenderla con la simple contemplación de lo que hacen los políticos de los diferentes países del mundo, y en especial, los de mi país Venezuela.
Recuerdo que hace algún tiempo leí un libro muy bueno de Fernando Savater llamado Las preguntas de la vida, me gustó tanto el autor que luego fui a la librería a comprar otro libro de él, allí conseguí el que ahora reseño, Política para Amador, gracias a este libro aprendí un poco, en términos generales, lo que es realmente esto que llamamos política y que muy pocos políticos hacen realmente.
Hardly anyone consciously knows what politics is, yet many of us apply it without realizing it. Nowadays it is difficult to understand it with the simple contemplation of what the politicians of the different countries of the world do, and especially those of my country Venezuela.
I remember that some time ago I read a very good book by Fernando Savater called The questions of life, I liked the author so much that later I went to the bookstore to buy another book from him, there I got the one that I now review, Politics for Amador, thank you I learned a bit from this book, in general terms, what is really what we call politics and that very few politicians actually do.
Este libro es excelente para tener una idea muy clara sobre cómo a lo largo de la historia el comportamiento humano, de alguna manera, nos ha llevado a tener que usar la política como algo fundamental y necesario para que una sociedad pueda organizarse y desarrollarse. Savater, en esta obra nos habla sobre los diferentes tipos o formas de hacer política y los resultados o consecuencias que estos han tenido a lo largo y ancho del tiempo, desde los cavernícolas hasta hoy en día.
This book is excellent to have a very clear idea about how throughout history human behavior, in some way, has led us to have to use politics as something fundamental and necessary for a society to organize and develop. Savater, in this work, tells us about the different types or ways of doing politics and the results or consequences that these have had over time, from cavemen to today.

El libro está escrito con un planteamiento elemental, pero a la vez profundo sobre principios básicos del pensamiento político y su desarrollo, está escrito de una forma sencilla, amena y con ese toque de humor característico del autor. Como excelente filósofo que es, Savater nos plantea las cosas desde un enfoque filosófico pero a la vez muy directo y sin dar vueltas en muchos asuntos, nos hace ver la importancia de la ciencia de la sabiduría y la política, las cuales no pueden estar desligadas.
Savater plantea temas actuales como el militarismo, la ecología, la corrupción, el racismo y el nacionalismo entre otros. Recomiendo este libro, principalmente a los jóvenes que desean seguir alguna carrera política o abogacía. El ejemplar que poseo es un librito de bolsillo de la editorial Ariel, 1991, tiene 233 páginas y el tamaño de las letras es grande, cosa que lo hace mucho más rápido de leer.
The book is written with an elementary approach, but at the same time profound on basic principles of political thought and its development, it is written in a simple, entertaining way and with that touch of humor characteristic of the author. As an excellent philosopher that he is, Savater poses things to us from a philosophical approach but at the same time very direct and without going around it is many issues makes us see the importance of the science of wisdom and politics, which cannot be separated.
Savater raises current issues such as militarism, ecology, corruption, racism and nationalism among others. I recommend this book, especially to young people who want to pursue a political or legal career. The copy that I have is a pocket book from the publisher Ariel, 1991, it has 233 pages and the size of the letters is large, which makes it much faster to read.
