Hoy quiero hablarles de mi experiencia leyendo un libro que cautivó por completo mi atención y el cual pude agendar en la pequeña colección que tengo de libros favoritos. Les estoy hablando de "Si no despierto" un libro escrito por Lauren Oliver en el año 2010, el libro cuenta con 480 páginas y cabe destacar que gracias a este libro, la autora estadounidense logró debutar en la literatura juvenil como una extraordinaria autora; el libro está narrado en primera persona desde la perspectiva de una adolescente que vive el día de su muerte una y otra vez.

El libro trata sobre una adolescente estadounidense "Sam Kingston" la cual forma parte de un grupo de 4 mejores amigas, cada una diferente a la otra, con personalidades totalmente opuestas y características distintivas, este grupo de amigas son las clásicas protagonistas de una película estadounidense, son populares, hermosas y tienen un propósito por cumplir antes de culminar la preparatoria, divertirse y salir con los chicos más populares y apuestos. Sin embargo, "Sam" aún cuando suele actuar por decisión de sus amigas, es diferente al resto, ella no quiere salir con un chico popular y solo asistir a todas las fiestas, pero su estatus en la escuela y frente a sus amigas no le permite expresar su verdadero ser.

Aún cuando es un libro juvenil, el tema que toca la autora es bastante profundo y reflexivo, darle importancia a las consecuencias que traen consigo las decisiones que tomemos en nuestra vida, incluso como estas pueden afectar a terceros, es un tema que da mucho que pensar, nos deja reflexionando sobre la fragilidad de la vida y como en un segundo cambiar el rumbo de tu vida... "Si no despierto", resalta la importancia de la toma de decisiones, te invita a pensar antes de actuar, te hace cuestionar la forma en que vives la vida, si realmente ha valido la pena ciertas cosas que has hecho, quizá para complacer a otros, de las que no estabas seguro o hiciste sin sentido".

Es por ello que esta obra litería es uno de mis libros favoritos, en la trama te sumerges en preguntas profundas, que te dejan pensando una respuesta, te ayuda a valorar las últimas oportunidades, a seguir tus instintos, ser fiel a ti mismo, y saber identificar cuando estos puedan ser positivos o negativos para nuestra vida. Desde mi reflexión, un punto importante en el libro, es enseñar a los jóvenes a detenerse y admirar la vida, disfrutar los pequeños momentos, esos ratos en familia o con amigos, nos invita a darle valor a esos momentos antes de que se vuelvan simples recuerdos, y en esta obra literia, sin duda lograrás una reflexión contigo mismo.

Para concluir quiero mostrarles una frase que fue de mis favoritas, ya que refleja la exigencia y las dudas que solemos tener en la vida, lo cambiante que podemos llegar a ser, al trasarnos una línea y al llegar a ella y ver que no logramos nada, entonces esto nos lleva a dibujar una y otra, en lo personal yo solía ser una persona así, solía dibujar líneas y al llegar a ellas perdían interés o significado para mi, ya que eran cosas vagas o superficiales, es por ello que tomé la decisión de llevarla conmigo y recordarme siempre que en distintos aspectos de la vida, todo debe tener un significado, sino, ¿cuál es el sentido de las cosas?.
