The Fault in Our Stars: Book Review [ENG/ESP]

Hello dear book lovers.

Hola queridos amantes de los libros.

Love is one of the most beautiful foundations in literature, and even more so when it is expressed under a totally captivating premise. In the world of young people (considering myself still as a young man even though I have the mind of an old man XD), there is this constant struggle to find an identity, or perhaps a place in the world. Hence the need for some writers to make their books a tactical representation of the dance involving the younger hearts. We find, although like a needle in a haystack, beautiful stories that reveal stark realities.

We immerse ourselves in a reflective drama of age and time, and we understand the longing for the freedom of the mind, although sometimes there are barriers that cannot be destroyed, but can be walked on ... an example of this is The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green. Surely a large part of this community has already read it, and they know as much as I do that it is a brilliant youth drama like the same stars that make up the title of this work. On one side is fussy love, and then we contemplate the compatible bond that unites two souls in the same misfortune, but also strong enough to outline a line of happiness in the face of the curves of adversity.

The protagonists share the same pain, the same pain but also a love that unites them in the most desired purpose: the opportunity to live. Hanzel Grace is the one who moves the story; Since she has memory of her, she suffers from a terrible cancer from which she has managed to barely survive thanks to science and a treatment that only works with her. Enlisted in a support group, Ella Hanzel hopes to find some relief from others who also suffer from the same illness. But amidst accumulating experiences, resentments and deaths, Hanzel meets a charismatic boy named Augustus Waters who, although he also has one foot in the grave like her, seems to be more alive than ever. What begins with a crazy friendship ends in an adventure of dreams, goals and life lessons ... but above all of love, understanding and empathy.

Of all John Green's books, this is my favorite, and it is precisely because of the fact that it sketches a story where life takes center stage. Two beings come together in a purpose that harbors happiness while, on the other hand, time and their oncological diagnoses are their main enemies. They share the same sky, and therefore they understand each other as no one has ever understood them. Life is full of dreams and illusions, but when we deny our own qualities, our environment becomes muggy. Neither Hanzel nor Augustus contemplated wasting every second of the sun and moon on earth, and rather tried everything to fulfill what their hearts longed for most: the hope of an opportunity to continue living together.

John Green's style is so fluid that you can eat up the lines in no time. The narration enlivens Hanzel's voice in the first person, and therefore we immerse ourselves in the story as if we were living it. It is a book that is simple at first glance, but has an inspiring message. If you have not read it yet, I recommend it without hesitation. The Fault in Our Stars will show you the most beautiful face of unconditional love ... so unconditional that it is even capable of surpassing death itself.

Despite having a track record of successful novels, it wasn't until The Fault in Our Stars that John Green established himself as one of the world's most beloved young adult novel writers. This story fell in love with both its form and its message; a relevant fact is that Green shows us something of the philosophy of life, youth and opportunities; Thanks to this mixture of nuances, this book was one of the Best Sellers most idealized by the New York Times.
