Un choque de culturas nuestro isleño amorío,
que prolongó su vida por una tempestad.
Atracción condenada a suma brevedad,
mas se impuso en nosotros deseo y albedrío.Nos brindamos calor a falta del estío
y tu cuerpo de virgen renunció a la frialdad.
Babel con sus idiomas infirió con crueldad
y tu mundo se vio más distante del mío.Mas suntuosos paisajes y una canción rotunda
unieron nuestro tiempo en modo inexorable,
rompiendo toda brecha, forjando unión profunda.Quince días de borrasca, un fin inexpugnable,
pero prevaleció una entrega fecunda
que sembró en mi memoria tu imagen imborrable.

A clash of cultures our island love affair,
which prolonged its life by a storm.
Attraction condemned to extreme brevity,
but desire and will prevailed in us.We offered each other warmth in the absence of summer
and your virgin body renounced coldness.
Babel with its languages inflicted with cruelty
and your world seemed more distant from mine.But sumptuous landscapes and a resounding song
united our time in an inexorable way,
Breaking every breach, forging deep union.Fifteen days of a squall, an impregnable end,
but a fruitful devotion prevailed
that sowed in my memory your indelible image.
Una nueva entrega que forma parte de Son estos sonetos honestos y como siempre, con el tema del amor, la pasión y la entrega. Y como siempre haciendo honor a la literatura clásica en español, con estos sonetos de versos alejandrinos.
Una vez dejo en claro que la traducción al inglés solo busca facilitar la lectura a los amantes de la literatura en español, sin ser ese su idioma nativo y que la versión inglesa pueda contribuir a su entendimiento.
A new entry that is part of Son estos sonetos honestos ("These are honest sonnets") and as always, with the theme of love, passion and devotion. And as always honoring the classic literature in Spanish, with these sonnets of alexandrine verses.
