Fue más que una manera de falsa connivencia.
en cambio ese cariño, de cargas tan hermosas
en ti iba alimentando anhelos imposibles.
dejaron en tu vida mil ansias quejumbrosas
que acaso te alejaran de amores avenibles.

Closer to a mistake I glimpse now the fact.
Your intimate longings, the yearnings of your breast
discreetly thou didst satiate by urging my affection.
for I am not justified by your unsatisfied body.
To enter as a friend with thee to thy bed
It was more than a manner of false connivance.
instead that affection, of such beautiful burdens
in you was nourishing impossible longings.
they left in your life a thousand plaintive yearnings
that perhaps kept you away from a love that could become possible.
Mientras más me interno en los sonetos de versos alejandrinos, según su usanza en español, más me enamoro de esta forma poética y más me convenzo de lo complejo del arte de la poesía.
Luego de haber empezado con unas formas, más o menos libres, de soneto, me he visto en la necesidad de hurgar en sus formas más clásicas. Hoy doy un nuevo paso en esa dirección al empezar a considerar también los patrones acentuales, que es uno de los elementos distintivos de los versos alejandrinos.

The more I delve into alexandrine sonnets, the more I fall in love with this poetic form and the more I become convinced of the complexity of the art of poetry.
After having started with some more or less free forms of sonnet, I have found myself in the need to delve into its more classical forms. Today I am taking a new step in that direction by beginning to consider also the accentual patterns, which is one of the distinctive elements of alexandrine verse.
To all of you who have been supporting this literary journey I have undertaken here, thank you very much!
