Poetry contest "Residencia en la tierra", in homage to Pablo Neruda
El inolvidable
Neruda, Neruda
tú me enseñaste a escribir
ahora nadie te quiere leer,
me enseñaste que la poesía,
no solo es amor y miel,
es rebeldía social,
son las batallas que libré,
son el difunto Bolívar,
quien murió por patriotismo,
y hoy en en este recinto,
te recuerdo mientras tomo café .
…
The unforgettable
Neruda, Neruda
you taught me how to write
now nobody wants to read you,
you taught me that poetry,
it's not just love and honey,
is social rebelliousness,
are the battles I fight,
are the late Bolivar,
who died out of patriotism,
and today in this enclosure,
I remember you while drinking coffee.
...
The verses you wrote were as many as the stars
and like each one of them.
gave birth to the heart,
of every damned lover,
that was falling into tragedy,
and on a night without stars,
his illusion is extinguished.
...
Residence on earth is a meager reality
with unfortunate events
and inexplicable wonders
that fill the heart of a poet
encourage you to write
with a glass of wine next to it
or a cup of tea in the garden.
...
Neruda was one of those poets,
who only wrote the truth,
their themes were, death, love, sadness, passion, freedom...
He wrote about everything that did not fit in his chest,
that was not intended to be saved,
then I capture it in blood
every letter, every place,
every verse I needed
this earthly life.
I love poetry, reading and writing it, but as a writer I am a novice, I hope that with my words I can capture something of the essence of this great Chilean, author of many immortal poems and phrases, thus becoming an unforgettable man.
