One of the most romantic legends of Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, was entitled, precisely, ‘The moonlight’ and was set on the banks of the Duero River as it passed through the beautiful Castilian city of Soria.
The plot, briefly commented, describes a young dreamer who, trying to embrace a moonbeam, whom his fantasy mistakes for a woman with whom he ends up in love, ends up drowning in the mighty waters of the old river.
Sometimes, when I see that impetuous jet, which like a geyser rises to the heavens, while its reflection comes to life, swaying sensually to the rhythm of the gentle current of the waters of this pond, resembling the snowy dress of the woman who thought she saw dreamer in love, I can't help but let my fantasy fly too and think that after all, imagination was granted to us so that we could daydream.
