The mirror, as it happens with its protagonism in fairy tales, also plays with our vanity and invites us to see distorted images, which nevertheless help us to develop our fantasy, putting into practice our power of speculation.
Specula speculorum, as it would happen with any fantastic story worth its salt, we could even suggest, from a Platonic perspective, that we live in a great world cavern, of which we are only simple shadows in the metaphorical world of the Idea, which evolve until reach the sharpness of the world of Form.
A sensation that is obtained, precisely, when in this substitute for the mirror, which is a simple expanse of water, the surface is punctually distorted by the action of the slightest breath of wind.
Circumstance, which after all, is still a metaphor as well, aimed at making us understand, among other suggestions, how fragile existence is deep down.
