[ENG] Hello community! Today I'm sharing the process of an architectural sketch made in an interesting shopping center near my home, the exact place that I choose is the staircase from the exit of the cinema, I think it was a very elaborate composition with the use of concrete which is good spatial drawing exercises.
The materials that I used were two types of pencil, a wooden drawing board and a broken ruler, also, to record the process, my brother's camera.

¡Hola, comunidad! Hoy les comparto el proceso de un boceto arquitectónico realizado en un interesante centro comercial cerca de mi hogar, el lugar exacto que elegí es la escalera de salida del cine, creo que fue una composición bastante elaborada con el uso de concreto lo cual es bueno como ejercicio de dibujo espacial.
Los materiales que utilicé fueron dos tipos de lápiz, un tablón de madera y una regla rota, también, para registrar el proceso, la cámara de mi hermano.

[ENG] Generally, when I start a drawing, the first thing I do is determine the framing, for that I use the most basic and clear elements in sight, in this case, the vertical elements, the columns, then, from them, and trying to keep the proportions, I continue to portray the other elements, which mark the limits of the painting.
[ESP] Generalmente, cuando empiezo un dibujo lo primero que hago es determinar el encuadre, para eso utilizo los elementos más básicos y claros a la vista, en este caso, los elementos verticales, las columnas, luego, a partir de ellas, y procurando mantener las proporciones, continúo a plasmar los demás elementos, que marcan los limites del cuadro.

[ENG] From the city where I live, this is one of my favorite shopping centers, architecturally speaking. I have tried to research on the Internet about its history and its construction, but no information appears, although there is always some record, someone must have the plans, I suppose I should go for a visit to the mayor's office.
The natural lighting system works perfectly, it is a series of vaults reminiscent of the Kimbell Art Museum, by architect Louis Kahn. The ventilation is also very good, so in addition to being interesting it is a very comfortable place to spend time drawing.
[ESP] De la ciudad en donde vivo, este es uno de mis centros comerciales preferidos, arquitectónica-mente hablando. He intentado investigar por Internet acerca de su historia y su construcción, pero no aparece información, aunque siempre hay algún registro, alguien debe tener los planos, supongo que debería hacer una visita a la alcaldía.
El sistema de iluminación natural funciona a la perfección, es una serie de bóvedas que recuerdan al Museo de Arte Kimbell, del arquitecto Louis Kahn. La ventilación también es muy buena, así que además de interesante es un lugar bien confortable para pasar el rato dibujando.

[ENG] It took about an hour to finish the drawing, I had some distractions. When I had completed the details, the shading and everything, I went with a comrade to a nearby park, there with a small broken ruler I remarked the main lines of the drawing, it was one of the last stages of the drawing.
[ESP] Me tomó aproximadamente una hora hacer el dibujo, tuve algunas distracciones. Cuando ya había completado los detalles, el sombreado y todo, fui junto a un amigo dibujante, a un parque cercano, ahí con una pequeña regla rota volví a remarcar las lineas principales del dibujo, esa fue una de las últimas etapas del dibujo.

[ENG] This is how the result looks after adding the details, the shadows and everything, it is a scan of the original drawing. However, I do not consider this the final drawing, when I saw it I realized that it had some proportions flaws, and that there were important deformations that I could repair, so after this phase, I started working on the drawing digitally.
[ESP] Así se ve el resultado luego de haber agregado los detalles, las sombras y todo, es un escaneo del dibujo original. Sin embargo, no considero este el dibujo final, ya que al verlo me dí cuenta de que tenía algunas fallas de proporciones, y que habían deformaciones importantes que podía reparar, así que luego de esta fase, comencé a trabajar el dibujo de manera digital.

[ENG] I opened the scanned file in Photoshop, as an image, then made various modifications. First I fixed the stairs, which had been very thin, I stretched them down next to the closest elements such as the railings, then I reduced the color saturation and made adjustments for brightness and contrast, that's when I already considered the finished drawing.
This means that the last phase of the drawing is only digital until somebody prints it, although it will no longer be graphite, that changes the nature of the drawing. It is a good feeling to be able to capture what we observe on a sheet, it is like evidence that whoever made the drawing was in that place, of course today we have the cameras that facilitate this work. Drawing is a practice that allows us to better understand the geometry of spaces, a tool for observation and study, it involves not only the technique and the stroke, but it is also an activity of thought, like answering an enigma.
[ESP] Abrí el archivo escaneado en Photoshop, como una imagen, entonces realicé varias modificaciones. Primero arregle las escaleras, que habían quedado muy delgadas, las estiré hacia abajo junto a los elemento más cercanos como las barandas, luego le reduje la saturación de color e hice arreglos de brillo y contraste, fue entonces cuando ya consideré el dibujo terminado.
Esto quiere decir que la última fase del dibujo es solo digital hasta que la imprima, aunque ya no será de grafito, eso cambia la naturaleza del dibujo. Es una buena sensación la de poder plasmar lo que observamos en una hoja, es como una evidencia de que quien realiza el dibujo estuvo en ese lugar, claro que hoy en día tenemos las cámaras que facilitan ese trabajo. El dibujo es una práctica que nos permite comprender mejor la geometría de los espacios, una herramienta de observación y estudio, involucra no solo la técnica y el trazo, sino que, además, es una actividad del pensamiento, como responder un enigma.

[ENG] The completed drawing is the first image of the publication, I am satisfied with the result, I would also like to continue practicing and incorporate other techniques, such as different textures and some fine black markers, with those the drawings are very good, I will try to get it for the next sketches.
Some time ago I practiced with watercolors, but I actually prefer this monochromatic style with pen and pencils, I think is sober and classy.
[ESP] El dibujo terminado es la primera imagen de la publicación, estoy satisfecho con el resultado, también quisiera continuar practicando e incorporar otras técnicas, como diferentes texturas y algunos marcadores negro punta fina, con esos los dibujos quedan muy buenos, voy a intentar conseguirlo para los próximos bocetos.
Hace un tiempo practiqué con acuarelas, pero en realidad prefiero este estilo monocromático con bolígrafo y lápices, creo que es sobrio y elegante.
