Greetings to all, today I want to share with everyone an interesting architectural restoration project. It is worth mentioning that this is a project that I could not get historical background or official information.
In my municipality there is no strategy or tourism for colonial architecture, not like there is in other states that even in Valencia the colonial town is protected, not here and therefore there are very few buildings with existing colonial characteristics and this is one . This was a restoration that was done to an old colonial house, in which by doing a restoration and part of the concept was to preserve its historical legacy keeping the old visible with the new in a way that is a harmonious transition, and the function that currently shelters a state television channel.
Preserving in good condition all those elements that you want to preserve, giving their historical value, is notable in the facades of this partial remodeling, renovating with a new air despite the fact that windows and doors are used and leave visible, as well as adobe walls with characteristics colonial. Colonial architecture began with the founding of colonial cities as small urban settlements and was itself a ceremony that mixed religious rites, military protocols, political acts and urban practices. En mi municipio no existe estrategia ni turismo por la arquitectura colonial, no como existe en otros estados que inclusive en Valencia el casco colonial es protegido, aquí no y por ello son muy pocas las construcciones con características coloniales existentes y esta es una. Esta fue una restauración que se le hizo a una antigua casa colonial, en la cual al hacer una restauración y que parte del concepto fuera conservar su legado histórico manteniendo visible lo viejo con lo nuevo de una manera en que sea una transición armoniosa, y la función que le da cobijo actualmente es a un canal de televisión estadal.
Preservar en un buen estado todos aquellos elementos que se quiere conservar dando su valor histórico se hace notable en las fachadas de esta remodelación parcial renovando con un aire nuevo a pesar de que se usan y dejan visibles ventanas y puertas, también paredes de adobe con características coloniales. Otro punto importante en las restauraciones de construcciones antiguas y realizar un trabajo de patología estructural para garantizar la seguridad de la obra.
El techo de teja y el ladrillo de adobe, la puerta de madera y las ventanas verticales con puertas de madera y su respectiva herrería son características que se hacen notar y más en el posicionamiento y contexto de esta antigua casa.
La arquitectura colonial empezó con la fundación de las ciudades coloniales como pequeños asentamientos urbanos y era en sí una ceremonia que mezclaba ritos religiosos, protocolos militares, actos políticos y prácticas urbanísticas. Como dato curioso recuerdo que cuando era niño en mi país Venezuela había un día feriado llamado “ El descubrimiento de Ámerica” en 1942, el cual fue el día en que Cristobal Colón enviado por la corona Española llegó a Ámerica con sus embarcaciones, actualmente ese día fue modificado y ahora se llama “Día de la resistencia indígena" por los indígenas que fueron los pobladores originarios de América y lucharon contra la conquista española y demás naciones, defendiendo su tierra ante la esclavitud y abusos de los nuevos visitantes. En mi opinión esta segunda manera de llamar al día me parece más convincente por todo lo que sucedió y lo que implica que dominen tu territorio por la fuerza y la ilegalidad.
En la arquitectura colonial usa los materiales los fueron los que ofrecía el medio de ese tiempo como los diversos tipos de materiales empleados como el bahareque, la piedra, la madera, la caña amarga, la tapia, el adobe y la arcilla para la creación de ornamentos funcionales, que sirvió para la creación de ornamentos funcionales. También se uso el yeso y la cal para el cubrimiento de las edificaciones. La arquitectura de las casas es simple y sin adornos, cuya características son: Nichos profundos para puertas y ventanas. Tejas coloniales que venían a reemplazar la paja. Molduras para los marcos de las puertas.
