Hello greetings to this beautiful community of @arquitectura+diseño, happy to be back with you all. Today I want to talk about an infrastructure known as Teatro de la Opera de Maracay. I had the opportunity to make a beautiful tour in the company of my husband for this place. Unfortunately since the pandemic began it has remained closed, but I wanted to take a walk and get to know this construction closely. We took advantage and took some pictures of this beautiful design.
Hola que tal saludo a esta linda comunidad de @arquitectura+diseño, feliz de estar nuevamente con todos ustedes. El día de hoy les quiero hablar acerca de una infraestructura conocida como Teatro de la Opera de Maracay. Tuve la oportunidad de hacer un hermoso recorrido en compañía de mi esposo por este lugar. Lamentablemente desde que se inició la pandemia ha permanecido cerrada, aun así quería dar un paseo y conocer de cerca esta construcción. Aprovechamos y tomamos algunas fotografías de este hermoso diseño.
But first I would like to give you a brief review of when this theater was built.
The Teatro de la Opera de Maracay is a concert hall that began to be built in 1932 by mandate of the then president of Venezuela Juan Vicente Gomez, leaving in charge the architects Luis Maloussena and Carlos Raul Villanueva who did a great job in this construction. After having started the construction for several years with effort and dedication, due to the death of President Juan Vicente Gómez they had to stop the construction until further notice. The future theater had to wait forty years to restart its construction. In 1971 the work was resumed again, until it was finally inaugurated on March 19, 1973, with the name of Teatro de la Opera de Maracay, which filled with pride and happiness the lovers of the arts in the state of Aragua and made it the epicenter of culture.
Pero antes me gustaría darles una breve reseña de cuando fue construido este teatro.
El Teatro de la Opera de Maracay es una sala de concierto que se comenzó a construir en el año 1932 por mandato del entonces presidente de Venezuela Juan Vicente Gómez, dejando a cargo a los arquitectos Luis Maloussena y a Carlos Raúl Villanueva los cuales hicieron un gran trabajo en esta construcción. Luego de haber iniciado la construcción por varios años con esfuerzo y dedicación, por motivo de la muerte del presidente Juan Vicente Gómez tuvieron que detener la construcción, hasta nuevo aviso. EL futuro teatro tuvo que esperar cuarenta años para que reiniciaran su construcción. Para el año 1971 se retoman nuevamente los trabajos, hasta que finalmente fue inaugurada el 19 de marzo de 1973, con el nombre de Teatro de la Opera de Maracay, lo que lleno de orgullo y felicidad a los amantes de las artes del estado Aragua y lo convierte en epicentro de la cultura.
This theater has a very well designed modern style both inside and outside. It is said that the interior is like being in a palace because of its elegance and beautiful decorations. If we want to be specific, it should be noted that in this construction the influence of the '30s is noticeable, where abstract art was superimposed on the figurative. In fact, this theater was inspired by Charles Garnier's Opera Theater, https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%93pera_Garnier in Paris. We therefore appreciate a modern style, as I mentioned before, and the presence of what is known as the Art Deco style.
Este teatro tiene un estilo moderno muy bien diseñado tanto el interior como el exterior. Se dice que en la parte interior es como estar en un palacio por su elegancia y hermosa decoraciones. Si deseamos ser específicos, hay que resaltar que en esta construcción se nota la influencia de los años `30, donde el arte abstracto se sobreponía a lo figurativo. De hecho este teatro fue inspirado en el Teatro de la Opera de Charles Garnier, https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%93pera_Garnier en Paris. Apreciamos pues, un estilo moderno, como bien lo mencioné antes, y la presencia de lo que se conoce como el estilo Art Deco.
It was built with the purpose of creating a recreational and cultural environment in the state of Aragua, opening the doors to a new dawn for singers, artists and cultural art in the city. Sowing allergy and emotion in the hearts of the Maracayeros with great concerts and performances giving this city a bit of life.
Fue construido con el propósito de crear un ambiente recreativo y cultural en el estado Aragua abriendo las puertas a un nuevo amanecer a los cantantes, artistas y al arte cultural de la ciudad. Sembrando alergia y emoción en los corazones de los maracayeros con grandes conciertos y actuaciones dándole así a esta ciudad un poco de vida.
I had the opportunity to visit this theater several days ago, but, as I said, I could only see the outside of the theater since it was not working. I hope with all my heart that at some point this beautiful theater can reopen its doors to the public so that the city can enjoy this wonderful space.
Tuve la oportunidad de visitar este teatro hace ya varios días, pero, como les dije, solo pude observar la parte exterior ya que no estaba funcionando. Deseando de todo corazón que en algún momento este hermoso teatro pueda abrir sus puertas nuevamente al público para que así la ciudad pueda disfrutar de este maravilloso espacio.
Being in this place I observed that this work retains its design very well despite the time it has been closed, which speaks very well of its inhabitants and administration who collaborate to keep it in good condition. And its structure remains intact, maybe one or two details, but that does not detract from the style that makes it look very elegant.
Estando en este lugar observé que está obra conserva muy bien su diseño a pesar del tiempo que lleva cerrado, lo que habla muy bien de sus habitantes y administración que colaboran para mantenerlo en buen estado. Y es que su estructura permanece intacta, quizá uno que otro detalle, pero eso no le quita el estilo que la hace ver muy elegante.
The main facade is formed by three vertical masses contrasting with the horizontality of the three main entrances and the large canopy can be seen quite resistant wall that enhances the main facade. It also has a good lighting in the centers of the three bodies, the floor has some details in geometric shape giving it a touch of perfection that combines with the main facade.
La fachada principal está formada por tres masas verticales contrastando con la horizontalidad de las tres entradas principales y la gran marquesina se pueden observar unos muro bastantes resistente que realza con la fachada principal. Además cuenta con una buena iluminación en los centros de los tres cuerpos, el piso cuenta con unos detalles en forma geométrica dándole un toque de perfección que combina con la fachada principal.
Its doors are made of refined and polished wood that enhances at first sight, taking into account that it has become a historical monument that has made the hearts of many artists, actors, singers, musicians vibrate. My husband in fact tells me that it has opened its doors for the presentation of local, national and international figures. As you can see, it is an important theater in my country Venezuela.
Sus puertas son de madera refinada y pulida que realza a simple vista, tomando en cuenta que se ha convertido en todo un monumento histórico que ha hecho vibrar el corazón de muchos artistas, actores, cantantes, músico. Mi esposo de hecho me dice que, ha abierto sus puertas para la presentación de figuras locales nacionales e internacionales. Como ven, es un importante teatro de mi país Venezuela.
In the same way it can be observed that it has a very large space to enjoy the natural environment and at the same time the beautiful garden covered with flowers and shrubs that makes it look very distinguished, this beautiful garden in addition to beautify the work, makes it become a pleasant place to the public view, in addition to contemplate and observe this theater, they can enjoy and spend a pleasant moment.
De igual manera se puede observar que cuenta con un espacio sumamente amplio para disfrutar del ambiente natural y al mismo tiempo del hermoso jardín cubierto de flores y arbustos que la hace ver muy distinguida, este hermoso jardín además de embellecer la obra, hace que se convierta en un lugar agradable a la vista del público, además de contemplar y observar este teatro, podrán disfrutar y pasar un momento agradable
Once we had toured part of the place we continued walking and we found a very beautiful design formed by refined walls and beams. There you can appreciate the play of shadow that makes it look resplendent. It seems to me a nice place to enjoy this majestic building and not only that, but also to enjoy the fresh atmosphere offered by the garden on the sides.
Una vez habiendo recorrido parte del el lugar seguimos caminando y nos encontramos con un diseño muy hermoso formado por unos muros y vigas refinadas. Allí se puede apreciar el juego de sombra que la hace ver resplandeciente. Me parece un lugar agradable para deleitarse en esta majestuosa edificación y no solo eso, sino que también disfrutar del ambiente fresco que nos ofrece el jardín que se encuentra en los costados.
Truly this majestic infrastructure has been well designed and created for the enjoyment and growth of Venezuelans. These great architects really made an effort to give the best to this city declared as well as. National Historic Monument of the State of Aragua and the nation. Maracay Opera House.
